that is CAE, brown color type. CAE got yellow and brown color, both gone crazy when got shock. Small tank not really recommended to keep them, use otto better.

BBA, no such thing of under control, it will soon slowly spread out to other places like glass, filter, plant, wood, tiny till that you won't spotted them, once you spotted, it'll be too late because it is every where. I had that experience before and it was a 4ft tank, end up tear down whole tank. Better be safe than regret later.

thanks for the info..

the more time air bubble submerged under water, the more air molecule dissolved into the water...

Copper is an enemy of all invertibrates.. If you have snails or other shrimps crawling in there, and they're alive, then it's not copper biggrin.gif.

Copper can come from fish medication, anti snail medication etc etc etc.

snails are blooming in my shrimp tank... i'm worrying how to remove them... sad.gif

my shrimps die one by one... not massive suicide....

if snails are present, scratch out copper.. Now I'm suspecting your filtration power and water quality.. also, how's your maintenance?

Drew
*
HOB filter... quite a large one... so filtration power i guess its ok... i'm guessing the bio filter (carbon) inside the HOB filter... is it true when after sometime, carbon will release *whatever it previously filtering* back into the water??.... unsure.gif

QUOTE(chuppy2 @ Nov 9 2009, 06:48 PM)
@cata, Carbon is NOT A BIO FILTRATION MEDIA.. and yes it is true it will release all the gunk it sucked out after a period of time...

BIO media are things like Bio rings, ADA BIo rio, etc etc. Carbon is chemical filtration

Drew
*
oh ok... chemical filtration... so should i remove all the used carbon and jz maintain the sponge inside for mechanical filtration??... i'm also using sponge at the intake pipe to prevent shrimplets being sucked in...

Want to ask. I got a 1.5 feet tank with a rock and HC growing. How many cherry shrimp can I put in there?

Currently there are only 11 neon tetras.

(Asking cause buy some but minimum purchase is 20 shrimps) is that too much??
*
can fit hundreds.... but better start off with 30-40 shrimps.... jz set ur budget rm50 for RCS alone...
