1) Where shall I go to further my studies - UK, AUS, USA, Canada or China

I dont mind answering any questions if you want to know about studying in France, most of the students here are sponsored by;
-KPM
-MARA
-JPA
-PETRONAS
-TELEKOM
-parents

come... come... bienvenue en France  rclxm9.gif

2) How much is the living expenses overseas

Depends on where you live, some big city is just insane. but normally there is a student hostel called 'Cite U' the price is around 160 euro a month, approx 800MYR. but all the student here will be helped by the french government for their accomodation around 60 euros per month. you can choose to stay in a small appartment too, its your decision.

pain bagnat = sandwich with eggs, tuna, salad = 4 euro = 20MYR
kebab = sandwich with beef = 3.5 euro = 16 MYR
coca cola = 1.2 euro = 6 MYR

3) What is so good about overseas.

Well, here you learn their culture. How their education system works, How they are freely to mock their president in the newspaper without getting sued. How they preserve their historical values. How friendly they are. How they do debates regarding every issues that is not solved. How their students and workers make a strike protecting their rights. So basically you will adapt into their culture, and yes french are friendly.

Been looking at the posts here. Most of the ppl here are joining UK universities.

Just wondering, anyone thought of studying or currently in Australia?

I noe currently there are many international students in Australia, but in Malaysia itself, most ppl reckons that UK's education quality is much better than Australia's.

And me myself, though pursuing my studies in Australia, i still have this perception as well. Can anyone here actually explains the situation now?

Is the situation remains the same? where UK>Aus?? Recognition wise?

Btw, im speaking in general. Overall in this case.
*
Thank you for your question. There is no actual saying where is more Recognise. Australia education will be exactly as good as UK. But in your education apart from academic, you will need to have exposure. You will gain more exposure in UK because it is near to Europe and US. In europe, you can visit to different countries to learn about their culture and know the development of the country. Then you will be able to gain more. Besides, in Aus the nearest place is just Asia.

This is base on fact

Will going to teeside for Ba  honor of Graphic Design(Adveritising) in Teeside University. Would like to know the living expenses over there. Is the facilities in the Uni good for a design student? Can get informations about design within Middlesbourgh?
*
University of Teeside is a small town and the living expenses is not high as well. It is also a famous school in Graphic. I have a few friends who is studying there. The university is clean and near to town.

Hey, I want to ask about the University Of Manchester. Is that a nice city for studying? Cause my Aunt keep telling that the city is more to industries. Is that true? Anyway, I got my conditional offer from Man Uni, as it is my firm, and University of Sheffield will be my insurance.
My another question is when do I have to apply my Visa, as I'm still having my A2 exam in Taylors, and the result will come out at August. Or i should apply it when the University give me unconditional offer?

Thanks.

Hi there,

University of Manchester is one. Although it is an industrial area but it have been upgraded this few years with a lot of model buildings. If you are a football fans, you will get the chance to watch the English Premiership Football (not a lot of ppl have the chance). Besides, if you like shopping, they have the biggest shopping mall call the trafford centre.

Please check the following website for the course ranking for manchester uni.

http://education.guardian.co.uk/university...2276673,00.html

Below is the link which show how satisfied is students with the University. Manchester is in no 27 and sheffield is 22.

http://extras.timesonline.co.uk/tol_gug/go...ersityguide.php

Besides, wat course are you looking to study. I think you should apply your visa earlier. If you need any further service e.g. pick up an also studycare staff greeting at the airport, transportation to uni, a short tour to supermarket and other important places like post office etc, and opening bank account.

Please let me know. As there will be charges on the above service.

Hello,

A Form 5 student here. Just keen to know the procedures to get into an university.

1)Leaves school with a SPM certificate
2)Go for a Pre-U course
3)Apply for universities while finishing the course
a Sen rclxub.gif d out application letters/forms
b IF i am accepted,
c Apply for a scholarship
d Prepare visa, ....
How to write application letters?
Do they offer full scholarships for excellent students?
My definition of EXCELLENT STUDENTS is students who thrived to gain TER 90 and above.
Anyway, is it easy for a 11As (SPM) student to achieve TER 90 in SAM/AUSMAT?

Your reply is greatly appreciated!

THANK YOU VERY MUCH
Ryan

Hi there,

Although it seems for you too early but it is good to do planning now. I would surely recommend you to do A-level. If you have good results in SPM you can apply to UK A-level and study in UK for A-level. Then while completing ur a-level you can pply university with ur A-level forcast results. For scholarships, some A-level college do provide it for outstanding students. This apply same with university.

You can also apply local scholarship with the government.

Hey guys,

I heard that there's a Clearing kind of thing for UK, for people who are finding universities last minute when your A level doesn't meet the entry requirement.

May I know where is it held and when is it roughly? I can't find it with Mr. Google.
*
hi there,

it usually happen after all the application close. You can apply now to get the condition offer. If your results did not meet the condition offer then u will enter into clearing automatically. No need to find which date. Apply early to play safe.

Hi...I just get my final result and planning to apply UK uni for my master. I would like to know which UK uni is good in Business.

So far, these are the universities that i applied.

MBS
Uni of Bath
Nottingham
Cardiff Uni...

Please advise me ...thanks...

One more question, i worry i have no enough time to apply for my visa as class normally start in Sept and i just sent out my application...Will this happen?
*
Yes the time for applying the visa will take some time. Therefore it might be ideal to go to british high commission directly to apply and ask how long would it take. But before that you will need to get the offer from the university. This will also take a while.

If you need any help in applying i will be able to help u and also any other service when u ar in UK.

if i go to London for one week, do i need to show my money when i arrive at London airport?
*
I think they will ask how much cash u have with you. This is just to ensure you have some cash to pay for your food and other utility and tranport. They will ask you to show just to proof you do have the money. Therefore bring some cash with you because not all the place accept credit card. Especially when you wan to buy something less than 10 pounds

*
First question to urself - You go there for the certificate or for people. If you are going there for study you will not care how ppl are and work hard to get the certificate.

Racist happen everywhere not only in UK. Thereofore you need to be aware of what you are doing and talking about.

hi......im goin to UK for a student exchange program for about 6 months.....is it necessary to apply for a Student Visitor Visa? The VFS agent recommend me not to apply for this visa as it is similar to a passport  unsure.gif

Do i need to provide my medical report to go through the UK custom? What other documents are required as well?..thank you  smile.gif
*
Hi there,

For your information, visitor visa only can last 3 months. Your course is 6 months, therefore you will need to apply visa. Please check out the british immigration office or ring up british high commission

You will still need to provide medical report. Get your panel doctor to do a medical check up for you including X-ray.

Thank you for your question

Hi, it seems like you are very keen to know my reaction to this news.

I checked the forum, there have been many ppl answering to the "UK medical education bashing" issue, so i would just share with you some of my thoughts here.

Before we jump to any conclusion, we should first understand the background why this has happened, however I am no expert in medical degree education in UK, this is by no mean my very personal understanding.

According to what i heard from my friends (medical doctors), getting into specialist course after their first degree is extremely competitive in the UK, the local UK students used to compete against their European counterpart as well as everyone from outside the EU, since each specialist student must learn directly from a consultant at one time, and since there aren't many consultants in the UK, the demand is far greater than the supply, unfortunately in the past years many foreign medical students after they have become consultant (4-6yrs training) they have left UK for their home country or Aus/US..for easier life and better pay, UK government was under immense pressure, what is worse is the local media kept bashing UK government for not doing enough to increase doctors, reduce the patient waiting time, etc etc... So what happened next, the UK gov had to implement several policies to stop the brain drain getting worse, one of them was to increase doctor's salary (ie. GP salary was from £70K jumped to £110K/yr), allow UK patient to receive treatment from EU country and restric non-EU students from applying the limited specialist placement, i think those foreignors with Permanent Residency status are not affected by this policy.

I am no policy maker and I don't think their policies are perfect either, but i can see the reason why they are doing this, I guess if you were the UK government, you probably would have done the same thing too, won't you?

Every government have their own policy. We should not criticise the policy but accept it although it is not fair. We should look at the positive way and try to get the qualification and try to come back to serve the country. Even better work overseas and transfer all the money back to help the economy in malaysia.

Hi

They are many good universities in Europe for postgraduate degree but many of them are taught in French / German / Dutch, so you will have to be cautious.

Second concern is the duration, UK needs only 1 yr for master degree (including MBA) but other countries may require 2yrs-3yrs.

Third concern is the cost, Euro dollar is very expensive nowadays, you might find it cheaper to complete your degree in UK than in Europe esp if your postgraduate degree takes more than 1 yr to complete.
Let me know if you need any help

It is not only getting the right university but it is exposure you get. You will get to meet with other ppl from others countries and exchange ideas of culture. Europe have great history in terms of building, arts and other. Therefore it is not only becoz of nice.
