Did you set the settings of the joypad (controller) at settings.exe under Pro Evolution Soccer 2010 program files folder?

I'm not sure why you hit the error, by any chance you're playing jacksparrow's version and trying to update? The updater need its original exe to perform

Check your monitor refresh rate if it's at 60Hz by using dxdiag.exe

Monitor need to be at 60Hz to enable the V-Sync option of it would be greyed out at settings.exe under Pro Evolution Soccer 2010 program files folder.

all the methods i try still same...and yeah my monitor already set 60Hz..last time using win7 RC no problem at all.because the RC would be expired soon on 2/3/10 so i need to buy new win7..vsync not grayed out either...

happen to me too.

got something to do with microsoft not rounding up ur refresh rate.happen on ati card.on nvidia i solve it by creating a custom reso with a tweak refresh rate setting.on ati still doesnt have a solution.

If V-Sync option did not greyed out in the settings.exe, then your screen probably hitting 60Hz sharp than 59.xxHz as reported by dxdiag. The problem I experienced with Win7 + PES2010 previously only this culprit which causing V-Sync failed to enabled and the game stuttering.

Perhaps you could give this method a try which I'm been using now to solve the 59Hz thingy,

1. Download and install an application named "PowerStrip" (google it)
2. Run PowerStrip and goto "Display Configuration"
3. Force-set your Refresh Rate to 60Hz.

Then run the game again. Lets see if this will do?

P/S: Keep the PowerStrip running after applied the setting when you start the game. You may need to reset it to 60Hz again everytime you quit the game.

well...my monitor already set to 60hz what..hohoho..other than powerstrip, ati also got got ATI tray tools...can also force the vsync but still same even can set it to more than 60hz IINM

So, conclusion at this moment... one managed to fix after invoke the refresh rate lock fix and one doesn't solve it yet

fixed mine by locking the refresh rate at 60hz using the ATI Tray Tools and tick the enable vsync box on the PES setting menu.

ahh still same, force vsync also got stutter thinggy every 4 secs...aiyark...now need to "pencen" from playing it...

pes2010 on xbox360...ok or not? FIFA2010 better?

PES is PES, no matter on PC, PS3 or Xbox360. PES is exactly the same as WE, except that PES (Pro Evolution Soccer) is Europe release and WE (Winning Eleven) is Asia release.

I'm not sure about the others, but ever since I played PES/WE, I never turn back to FIFA and that was many years ago until now.

I'm not trying to offend, but it's quite funny asking is FIFA is better in a PES/WE thread? Obviously when you asking this in this thread, of course they'll said PES/WE since we're playing the game. It'll probably be otherwise in FIFA thread then.
