im wanted get new prepaid wit BIS plain
got 3 option..

1. celcom rm25 (250mb)

2. u mobile rm19 (unlimited but cant utube or streaming)

3. maxis RM20
so i think celcom is best choice for BIS prepaid

so my question,. which is more stable ??
any 1 here got experience wit celcom??

any comment here??
*
stable , maxis and celcom ..

Umobile isnt recommended for BIS plan biggrin.gif

celcom is good but the quota is 250MB [but practically it is unlimited as long as you using BIS connection ]

I've been unable to find any charges for ad-hoc or non-package usage of data~ there isn't any phone settings for my HTC Wildfire as well~  -.-'''

I seldom use data and will only consider 800kb - 1,600kb per month if I need to use Google Maps or checking e-mails for emergencies~

Charges for other telcos:
Digi & Maxis ->  RM0.10 for 10kb (800kb = RM8, which is totally crazy)~

If anyone knows how much Umobile charge, please help me~
*
Umobile as far as I remember , RM 0.05/MB

a noob question here (with noob english)  ohmy.gif
Im now using digi super sms and want to change
but i dont know which telco is the best for me?
i seldom sms (less than 10 messages a week) and phone call (less than 5 times a week, within 1 minutes everytime)

i just use my phone (samsung galaxy s plus) for twitter and check in game and sometimes facebook only

can ts pls recommend me something which has internet plan with the minimum quota?
is it prepaid? or postpaid?
*
I would recommend Postpaid ,

since you only sms about 40 SMS per month and around 20 minutes calls ,

go for Maxis VPI [Value Plus Internet] 50 , for only RM 50/month ,
you will get 250MB data + 100 SMS + 100 mins calls , just pay RM 50/month..

or if the Umobile is okay for you ,

go for U28 plan , you will get 100 free SMS[to Umobile] and 200 free SMS [to other telco] + 1GB data , for RM 28/month,.

based on your usage ,

RM 28 + 20 minutes of calls [ 20 X RM 0.20] = RM 32.00

so overall you need to pay = RM 32 per month

Hey guys! lifetime-prepaid guy here, lol. Was just wondering about the data plans on phones nowdays, is 1Gb enough, or 3Gb is the average level?
Ps: interested in getting a phone deal with either Maxis or Digi for Gnex, note, lumia 800 or hopefully Xperia S. Any advice?
*
you want prepaid right..? , i dont think there are prepaid package + phone ,

1GB is more than enough , but it depend on your usage laugh.gif , if you always youtube and download things from internet , even 6GB also not enough smile.gif

QUOTE(SephirothX @ Feb 14 2012, 06:54 AM)
How do you mean based on my usage? Well, currently I'm using Celcom, and my bill is around RM150-RM180. That is include data. Another line I'm planning to get just to call and sms, maybe usage would be around RM30-RM50. If this is what you mean.
*
well, all telcos are good , and cheap .. the thing is , i need to know your usage to find the best...

for just call and SMS , how much you call and SMS in a month ..?

if with data , how much the data that you need in a month ,

+ where do you live + coverage + other criteria ,

those things are important info to find the best and suitable telco for you..

biggrin.gif

QUOTE(sexualpower @ Feb 18 2012, 06:06 PM)

*

Hi,

I think XOX prepaid suits u the most. See the below features that they offer;

1. 28 months validity
2. call within 30 seconds only cost you 8sen
3. SMS probably 10sen per msg or even free to same network (Celcom/Tunetalk)
4. The cheapest Data (RM18/300MB for a month) - Definitely enough for you to surf twitter & facebook!

Never really compared it, but was wondering, what's the best telco in terms of call/sms rates? regardless of prepaid or postpaid?

Tunetalk seems to be the best AFAIK, but their call block is 1 minute, and their data, is, hm.. virtually non-existant, if they had a more stable data, I would have just used them.

Give me some suggestions wink.gif

if you want to say the best in terms of call/sms rate , you mean by the cheapest right..? biggrin.gif

if prepaid,

Tune Talk --> 16 sen/min , 5 sen/ SMS , 5 sen/ 1MB data
Umobile --> 18sen/min , 9sen/30sec[charging block for calls] , 8 sen/SMS , 5sen/1MB data
Celcom Xpax --> 28 sen/ 3 min , 5sen/ SMS

actually for prepaid they also have extra things such as reload Bonus , extra bonus and other things [promotions] , so Its up to you to find which one is the best..

because it hard/difficult to find the best, every time they come with new promo

well, for postpaid , it depends on which package that you choose.. , there are no flat rate for every package smile.gif

Hm.. The "problem" I see with Maxis is that for their postpaid, the SMS rate to non-Maxis is really crazy at RM0.15/ea, might as well make a phone call instead.

Hm.. I didn't realise that U-mobile's SMS rate is a flat rate at RM0.08/ea, probably could consider that instead of Tunetalk which I'm using at the moment, since U-Mobile have an acceptable data speed compared to the pathetic Tunetalk unit sweat.gif

if you want speed + stability , go for Celcom and Maxis

actually that SMS rate isn't flat rate..

it is RM 0.08 to other telco , while RM 0.03 to same telco

which Maxis postpaid plan that you talking about..?

I suggest , you go for Maxis VPI 50 , RM 50/month

user posted image

yes , the rate is RM 0.15/ SMS to other network , but you got free SMS allocated there..

for postpaid, to find the suitable plan and telco , you need to know how much is your usage for a month .. then, you can decide which plan and telco to choose biggrin.gif

Again, thanks for the info. I've done some reading on U-Mobile's site yesterday after you mentioned it. Yeah, it's RM0.08/SMS and RM0.03/SMS, but I consider it as a calculation of RM0.08/SMS, don't think anyone I know is using U-Mobile laugh.gif What I'm actually worried is the network outage that happened to it quite a bit for the past 6 months, although this might not be my main phone line, there are still worries about this issue.

Maxis Postpaid plan if not mistaken is the same call/SMS rate regardless of the plan we take. And there's a new Internet plan available, Internet Value Plan, RM50 for 1.5GB of data(subsequently charged at RM0.30/MB) and for call/SMS is pay-per-use.

Here, manage to get the image off Maxis' site.
user posted image

And another contractual based one where it's the same as above RM50 package but at RM48 with the option to add 500MB data for RM5, but with a 12-month contract.
user posted image

If it's going to be choosing a data-based postpaid plan, I think it's a no brainer for me, I'll take this over DiGi anytime as I've had bad experience with DiGi's data connection for the past year or so(as compared to earlier on).

so , your usage is data > SMS/call ..??

you concern more about the data right..?

not all Maxis plan have the same SMS rate ,

if you choose Maxis Value First 30 , the rate is -->

anyway , if you concern more about the data , can go for Maxis IVP , if concern more about the call/SMS , can go for Maxis VPI ,

Hm.. Was initially more concerned about call/SMS, turns out I doubt I could even use up all the RM30 for call/SMS, might as well get a data centric plan and use WhatsApp more laugh.gif

u want plan bundled with phone or not...?

well , I don't suggest u to take the plan that bundled with phone..

I suggest u buy the phone outside , and then, just subscribe plan..

ok,

--> how much is your call/SMS usage..?
--> for your bro , how much the data that he used ? seems that he use iPhone 4 , may need around 1GB biggrin.gif

well, since you want supplementary line , I can't suggest Maxis IVP

Internet Value Plan by Maxis cannot used by supplementary line user
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

so , I think better go for Maxis Value Plus Family , [the one that you subscribed now]

you just need to add Mobile internet package

or can go for Maxis VPI,

if the data allocated not enough , can add more -->

mind that... you have free SMS and calls biggrin.gif
