QUOTE(hopperz_pro92 @ Jul 6 2023, 11:47 AM) Oh yes, I forgot about that. The recommended one is Umobile? which is cheap than the other. The downside only no router provided. In terms of affordability, Umobile. Furthermore Umobile do not limit the speed like what Yes is doing. If you exceed 1tb quota, just add another RM30 for 1tb, that's a good deal. However, you need to spend like 1k for good 5g modem.

QUOTE(hopperz_pro92 @ Jul 6 2023, 01:47 PM) ok, thanks for your suggestion. 1k is a lot for a modem looks like other alternative is Yes. I'm still thinking either want to stick with my umobile p99 or change to other wireless broadband. If you use for long term it is a good investment to get your own modem. ISP provided modem usually not so reliable. Go check out the U Home 5G topic. There are recommendation for modem.

QUOTE(donkeydoink @ Jul 11 2023, 03:57 AM) Hi all, I wonder if there is there a place where I compare an overview of all the telco promotions available in the country. The latest one i saw is by SoyaCincau but its back in March 2023. I am returning to Malaysia from Europe and would like a telco plan bundle with a mobile phone + supplementary line. Would like to know if there is an overview where whats the current offer of each telco. I think the one by Soyacincau is quite recent and up to date. Not much happening in the telco scene since March 2023 until now. Base on that article, try to narrow down which plan you think is suitable, then go to the respective telco website to find out if there's any changes.

QUOTE(prescott2006 @ Jul 18 2023, 03:22 PM) Which prepaid plan currently offer unlimited SMS and local call (including call center)? At the same time, I also need at least 30GB data and 3GB hotspot. I don't think there's prepaid offerring unlimited SMS now. Unlimited calls is also exclude 1300 and special 5 digit numbers.

QUOTE(yimingwuzere @ Aug 25 2023, 02:06 PM) A bit iffy on Umobile's coverage. I once did a workcation at Tioman Q2 last year. Only signal available was Maxis and Celcom, Digi and Umob were N/A. For 4g coverage I think only the 3 telcos (Celcom, Digi and Maxis) has larger coverage nationwide. For 5G currently it should be similar since all using the same DNB infra.

QUOTE(shaunkL @ Oct 19 2023, 11:49 AM) Hi all, have 1 backup phone to use another number for whatapps and waze usage only. What is the best prepaid plan with longest validity and data ? For example: 10gb data can last for 1 year... Unifi mobile perhaps. As long as you use it once in a while before 90 days, the line will never expired.

QUOTE(lowyat101 @ Dec 1 2023, 10:00 AM) Currently we (4 users) are on Maxis 128 package with 2x RM48 sub-lines and 1x RM38 sub-line. Total monthly bills are around RM280 per month. Also my Unifi contract has expired, so it's time to look for a new package. Maxis Family Plan seems a good option to replace as I'll get the 4 lines + broadband for RM299 (RM317 after tax), which is still slightly cheaper than my current plan + broadband. But with the recent free speed upgrade, this Family Plan at 30mbps seems not so attractive anymore. Would like to ask, for 4 lines + home broadband, what are the other better alternatives available? Can recommend some packages? Thanks Can try to have a look at the new Celcomdigi postpaid. https://www.celcomdigi.com/postpaidTry to do some calculation to see whether the line plus fibre fit your needs.

QUOTE(lowyat101 @ Dec 1 2023, 02:42 PM) thanks, looks good with the 300mbps broadband included. but for celcom/digi unlimited plan, any idea about their fair usage policy? any limit on the gb before the speed is reduced? tried to find the faq but not so clearly mentioned. also is celcom/digi broadband using unifi backbone? the same as for maxis? thanks I do not have any info on the FUP for unlimited plan as this is a new postpaid offer under their new branding. Celcomdigi is using Unifi backbone, same as Maxis. Hence it is advisable you use the transfer method when switching your fibre plan to avoid port taken.

QUOTE(zoldane @ Jan 19 2024, 02:00 PM) hi all sifu, been more than 7 years i didnt update myself on available mobile plans, as i know, damn maxis will not inform me and act stupid and keep farming me on my old more expensive plan. please recomend a post paid plan requirements - good internet coverage (maxis is known to be good for this), is it still the case? or any telco now more or less same nowadays? In Malaysia no telco is superior. Use what ever is good at your location. New Hotlink Postpaid and prepaid: https://soyacincau.com/2024/01/18/hotlink-a...off-peak-hours/Umobile plan: https://soyacincau.com/2024/01/17/u-mobile-...20around%20town.

QUOTE(zoldane @ Jan 20 2024, 08:02 AM) thanks sifu, but hor, the umobile 68 looks too good to be true for me. will get my butt to a u mobile shop when i see one as i still have some unanswered questions. Hahah, I'm no sifu. Just saying that beside cheap plan, coverage is very important. If you really want to go all out, get a prepaid sim to test. Yes also very cheap nowadays, but only good if your area has strong 5g. This post has been edited by YoungMan: Jan 20 2024, 11:11 AM

QUOTE(Sky.Live @ Jan 25 2024, 03:57 PM) Want to switch out from my XOX postpaid 38. Main reason being the roaming charge is expensive (RM38 per day). I dont have any problem with 8Gb/month as it is my secondary data line, my company provide me with a 30-40gb data plan. any suggestion for a low commitment telco that is not maxis and providing E-sim? Yoodo. Roaming only rm5 a day if not mistaken

QUOTE(K555 @ Apr 24 2024, 12:42 PM) main line + 2 subline... which telco recommended for value package...mostly travel in klang valley and currently with maxsheet. CelcomDigi Postpaid 5G 60 SE as mainline, add 2 sup lines for rm30 each. Mainline will have 70gb while each sup line 15gb. Or you can consider go for Umobile postpaid 38 x 3 lines. Each line get to enjoy 120gb data. QUOTE(!@#$%^ @ Apr 24 2024, 04:58 PM) I think Redone still have the Amazing8 plan. Not exactly payu, but you pay minimum rm8 monthly for 2gb data. Any extra usage like calls SMS etc will be charge accordingly.

QUOTE(!@#$%^ @ Apr 28 2024, 01:01 AM) was looking at redone 8 or onexox 10, but unfortunately both are small time telco. had a bad experience with small telco previously, closed down without giving an option to port out. mcmc also just sided with them and the number gone forever. it was crazy. Well, big time players definitely not interested to offer payu postpaid, some people will just park their number long time without spending. Why not consider prepaid with long validity instead?

QUOTE(coolguy99 @ May 20 2024, 11:45 AM) Can recommend a 1 + 1 line for both my parents? Cheapest postpaid plan in the market today. What is their requirement in terms of data, hotspot etc? Perhaps can check Umobile U 38 with 120gb of 4g/5g data. Hotspot will share from the same quota. No sup line so have to get 2 individual lines.

QUOTE(coolguy99 @ May 20 2024, 08:22 PM) Back then they were surviving with 4GB per month data so I would say is pretty low. That being the case why not consider hotlink prepaid priced at rm25. You have 20gb of data and unlimited calls. There is no more customizable like Yoodo now.

QUOTE(nexus2238 @ Jun 3 2024, 02:27 PM) Hi, currently using XOX Family plan, 1 main with 4 supplementary lines. Paying around RM90 per month. Kids complain that XOX has very bad reception when they travel in MRT, especially when train is underground. We don't use much data on mobile, 5 lines can't finish the shared 100GB in a month. Please recommend plans from other Telco that may be suitable. Thank you. XOX riding on Celcom line. If coverage is bad then you have to look beyond Celcom Digi, like maybe Umobile or Hotlink.
