A few weeks ago i've bought a secondhand wii which is a japanese console (Ntsc-J, RVl-01, D2A). I try to run mario kart wii (us), but when i wanted to start the game, the 001 error problem occur. My ffather me told that the problem is my wii can't support usa region games. So is there anything that i could do so that i can play all region games?

I've just sent my wii for a modification to a shop nearby and it took 1-2 weeks to complete. He told me that the modification will allow me to play all region games.

Wii modification is a sensitive topic here. it shares the border with piracy talk. Please proceed with this discussion carefully.

My advice would be to take the Wii back to the shop. Maybe it's a botched job. That's all I can say.
Like Mudmaniac said, modding is a very sensitive topic, it's walking the grey area between legit uses (i.e. so you don't have three Wiis piled up, one for each region, next to your TV, along that big hole in your bank account) and *cough* *ahem* talk.

I have no intention to mod my Wii at all. Since most of the games I want to play are available in NTSC/UC format and I have no interest in Japanese games for the console (maybe only Taiko no Tatsujin, but I've let that go already).

gundam's wii is a Pal one and by modding enables him US games. I could use a new customer.

99.9 % intentions are not valid. playing inter-region games is just an excuse to hide the real reason. of course there are exceptions, they fall under the 0.01%
