the latest custom rom is 3.04 WWE but i suggest 3.03 as 3.04 does not have camera driver in it, and there's no way to use camera..
3.03 is the best and stable rom, imho..
for flashing steps, u can get it from http://www.cotulla.pp.ru/Magician.html
if u want to flash using windows vista pc, there's a workaround in this threads' first post..

so meaning flashing using WinXp is the best compared to using Vista or Win7 or even Mac Os ?

thx

The bootloader @ RUUWrapper was designed to work only on WinXP. This is due to the driver dependencies in Vista which are incompatible for the accessing of the Main ROM block itself.

HTC Magician is O2 Mini, iMate JAM, Dopod 818 to name a few. Which is why this thread is called HTC Magician owners thread

If you want the best WITH camera, Gen 2 WWE is the one for you. But in terms of power management and bugs resolved, Gen 3 WWE is the one to go AFAIK and make sure you get the 2 programs xioajin1985 in the XDA Dev forums developed for the latest ROMS. They're helpful

big storage methods don't apply anymore nowadays since latest cooked ROMS delimit the storage and main ROM file spacing. How you set what is your storage ROM is by hard limiting the memory management itself

To be exact, there was never (before this) any ROM which had a newer then Windows Mobile 2003. Only recently someone's done the impossible and cooked up a Windows Mobile 6.1 ROM for it.

BTW: I've just updated the 1st post to teach how to disable the Activesync from automatically loading even when you're not synching to your PC
Use the PIM backup program in searcher12's service packs to back everything up. I do that with mine and works beautifully

Hi all smile.gif

Installd WWE_03 on my XDA II Mini, works like a charm, so far (at least no hang-ups from the previous original ROM).

How much and where do I go to replace the backup battery?

Thanks.

hm...

any idea why the phone goes off while i'm making a call?

i'm thinking it may be my main battery. when i plug in the usb / ac charger it does not hang. although before i charge the battery level is over 80% full...

installed with the new rom also have this problem.

i'm contemplating moving forward to WWE_005 from WWE_003. no camera of course, anyone care to share their first-hand experience?

thanks.

digilife, thanks. replaced battery and so far going ok...

but now one more issue that i've discovered thru first-hand experience and also via xda developers forum... no USSD (ie can't send *100# for Maxis Menu)

any fixes / workarounds? if not I'm going to upgrade / downgrade...

whyhon, how much? PM me.

ok it's official, googled at the xda-developers forum, the cotulla roms are basic functionality only... no USSD, no call waiting, second line etc...

found it the hard way by installing the new ROM... but the GUI rocks... smile.gif

maybe play around with it for a while...
