This is a (Hopefully) a revival of the O2 XDAII Mini Lovers CLUB V3 thread since there's no updtaes in the 1st page

Wiki details: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?p...me=HTC_Magician

1. Windows Mobile 6.1 now possible. Use this site to get the ROM's from Cotulla LATEST ROM: HTCMAG_ROM_WWE_O4

http://www.cotulla.pp.ru/Magician.html

Please follow developer's install instructions (Warning, next version maybe for 128Mb Magician's only)

Fixes for Cotulla's ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=493611

All other apps meant for WM6.1 are more then likely to work as long .NET CE required is no newer then v2.01

If you're facing trouble of your PDA shutting down or hanging, try using the batclear to reprogram the battery memory level or change your housing

By right it's recommended that you flash the ROM in XP but if you can't find an XP running com, here's the workaround

2. If you're itching to use Manila 2D (Warning, you're gonna be out of RAM for other apps very quickly): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread...326#post3465326

3. If you're a SPB Mobile Shell user, there's a mod for it here: http://www.imarche.net/omnia/index.php

3. Linux based OS is rumoured to be in the works but at the moment it's still in developement stage

4. Useful apps and tit-bits still available from V2 here: http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/336400

5. Please do not ask if WM6.5 ROM's are out yet, it's still in beta stage and Atom users are having problems loading

6. For ALL ROM flashings, please use XP to perform it. Seems Vista's USB drivers in bootloader incompatible but try PM'ing me for the driver which may or may not work (Haven't tested it)

7. Hack to ensure Active Sync doesn't keep loading up for no reason

I'm using the general codename of the O2 Mini. HTC at that hadn't sold yet under their brand name actually. If you looked at the subtitle, Magician covered many brands too so I chose not to discriminate

yea.... ii noe its the code name. n notice the subtitle.
i jus think tat it probably would be easier to rejuvinate the community here by using mini directly.
unlike xda-dev.... i think most ppl here wont noe their device platform & codename blush.gif

js a suggestion though smile.gif
was once a mini user for a short short period during year 2005/06.

IINM it's not as easy as you think as there's lots of precautions needs to be taken especially regarding the ribbons interconnecting the LCD and the PCB itself. but if you're 100% sure, all the best

BTW: Can you link the lelong page selling at RM40 the housing? been looking for a cheap one in lelong until now

Owh found it, sellers in JB. Nevermind

U might wanna take precaution against static as LCD is very sensitive to this.

tried to DIY with my K500 and ended up I killed the LCD

Currently using the WWE_03 ROM by Cotulla. Haven't really used the Bluetooth since the upgrade but Magician's bluetooth has always been abit tricky but should be ok with this

BTW, anyone here know which shop has the ballz and the right chips to upgrade the Magician to 128Mb RAM?

But it sure would help alot since I'd doubt any of the 128Mb Mini's were ever sold here

PS: Updated 1st post with tutorial on how to upgrade ROM on Vista
