So the only option still lies to FW43.

I can't afford any higher budget. FW43 is much better than NW15 right?

+1 Gb RAM, + ATI 3470HD (256Mb).
Is the GMA4500HD rili that bad? Worst than my XPS1210 GeForce7400 (64Mb) which I bought 2yrs+ ago.

How possible? 256Mb vs 64Mb

yes, certainly its better than NW15 in term of gpu.

the GMA4500MHD isnt a bad gpu card, but if you intend to play current game and some year 2008 game, you better skip. the GMA4500MHD only capable to play game which release year 2006 at most.

if you like games such DoTa, CS Source, and a casual gamer, you wont have prob to play.
some games ive play using the GMA4500MHD is HAWX, Dreamfall: The Longest Journey, CS Source, SRS, NFS series (NFS UG 1, 2, Most Wanted), NFS Prostreet and Undercover tho its a lil bit bumpy; etc ( i forgot others). i believe the previous Juiced can be play as well. do mind that when using the integrated gpu (GMA4500MHD), the processor and rams capability really do count. means the higher the cpu (speed and cache) and ram capacity (size and types (e.g: DDR3), the better and smooth it goes.

ps: of course you cant play crysis with GMA tongue.gif

How'bout FallOut3?
I played that game with lowest resolution & setting using my XPS M1210, which run on T5600 & 2Gb RAM & GeForce7400.
Kinda slow after long play.

Will NW15 spec run better? U can estimate it, I'll understand it.
Or FW43 sufficient for smooth gameplay?

Fallout 3 wont run with GMA4500MHD.
i run the Fallout 3 using my NVIDIA 9300M GS, its pretty good with lower res, and some low graphic setting. its playable.
the FW43 is using ATI HD3470, which has abit better performance than my NVIDIA. thats would handle the game smoothly without prob provided that you run the game without using the native reso of FW43. tho, if you have higher budget, i would recommend you the FW46 in a heartbeat.

No, that won't work.
FW46 need additional RM2k!

Kinda regret when I bought the XPS M1210 at RM5,456 after customized in 2007.
It din perform well on games at all.
Can't even play smooth with NFS: Underground which is a game yrs ago.

I'm a gamer, but I dun think I'm a gamer with computer. I prefer on TV, eg Xbox, PS3...
So I think F43 is basically suit me overally.
Juz the batt life less tahn 2 hrs with operating, which get me worry.

US spec can last upto 4hrs with std cells. Extended cells make 5.5hrs.

Miyabi, which VAIO u using?

for the FW series battery life, its rely on the machine configuration. usually the one with integrated GMA4500MHD and P variant Core 2 processor prolly have better battery life hour. its doesnt make difference for US and Asia's FW series.

if you already said that console is your choice for gaming, and if you need better battery life, get the non dedicated gpu notebook. Theres tons of choice available for VAIO with integrated gpu.
Im using VAIO Z, previous was VAIO C.

Added on October 1, 2009, 12:17 amHmm... Good news for all the ppl out there who's looking for VAIO laptops...

According to a sales representative at Gurney Plaza told me juz now, there'll be new models launching this coming mid Oct.

So, I hope that higher end NW-series to be launched, with dedicated GPU....

i hope they do bring the highend NW too, the price just fit its well(from the US site). but, tho in my opinion sometimes its rely to demand.
regarding the new model, i guess its the VAIO X series along with some refresh spec for VAIO P (not so sure on this).

i dont use the CS, but i have a cousin who are using CS; ive asking her if theres prob like what you mention, but it doesnt.
do you did any nvidia driver update or any changes on your computer? if default nvidia driver, its related to the screen itself i believe.

i suggest if the notebook still under warranty, send it back to service centre for inspection.

1) You have to install the driver for XP.
2) Use the recovery dvd you create.

onenique: thanks for sharing the photos. and nice upgrade smile.gif

nicky0322: only selected model is applicable. and call their CIC to ask about that..seeing that you need to register from japan website, i guess you have to go through this channel as sony malaysia doesnt sell the kit standalone at their store. anyway, give them a call.
