I wish I have money to spare on a console for just 2 games, G and Tri sad.gif

Anyway can anyone confirm how much do they charge to play online?
*
30 days = 800 wii points
60 days = 1500 wii points
90 days = 2000 wii points

100 points = 100 yen I think, not sure, never bought any before, can someone confirm that?

Must it be Japanese account to play online? I have to admit I have no knowledge at all regarding console online thing blush.gif

I'm worried if it'll be like PC's version MH. And it's not possible to multi play without paying right? sad.gif

I'm not sure if modded Wiis of other regions can access online, I have a JP Wii so I'm good. MH Frontier was a rip off anyway, charging 1500 yen a month with additional fees to access higher level quests and certain upgrades. I quit after the first 3 months but not before reaching HR99.

Yes, I am aware of the 23rd April release date but apparently, another friend of mine who bought it and his is also shipped. I bought the Starter pack which includes the CC (I needed one anyway) and the MH3 demo.

As you can see here, my order is really shipped and I too am surprised that it was shipped so early.

Ok first thing's first. Pictures of the package contents, don't know why when I turn off flash my images becomes blurry......

Longbow, Dual Swords, Hunting Horns are removed from the game and Gunlances now have a new name, Brain Faux/Fox. (I don't know which one sounds right)

Confirmed that Dual Sword, Gunlance, Longbow and Hunting Horn are removed in the game by MH's Producer, Mr. Tsujimoto in an interview by Famitsu. Not much is known about Brain Fox yet but the instruction says that it works like a lance but it could be something know, who knows?

How come it's not in widescreen? is it your TV or the game itself is not widescreen?
*
My TV Tuner program a little weird, won't display wide screen properly so I recorded it in 4:3. The game itself can be widescreen if you set your wii settings to 16:9.

Right cool, tell us about the control man.
*
I'm kinda in a hurry so I'll just post whatever that comes into my mind minus proper grammar and punctuation, sorry!

Wiimote + nunchuck = A is your primary attack and it is also used to interact, ie box or gathering spots if you're near enough. Attack variants are executed by tilting analog stick upwards and press A or tilt wiimote to the left/right and press A. "-" is also an attack but it is also used to swing the torch around if you have it equipped. + to open menu, trigger button to roll / cancel, 1 is to use items, d-pad is to control camera and finally, running and item selection are the 2 shoulder buttons on your nunchuck. In my opinion, it's a total mess.

Classic Controller control scheme A (MH classic style)
Right analog to attack and left to move. L button to reset camera or open item menu. R is for running. X is to kick and everything else the same to those who are familiar to older MH controls.

Classic Controller control scheme B (MH Portable style)
Don't need to explain this, basically the exact same button layout as the PSP versions but right analog is used to control camera as well.

@Tensou

You tried G yet dude? Any significant difference between this and the PS2 version?  hmm.gif
*
I tried playing a few missions. It's pretty much the same except the game system is based on MH2. Lack of time and fatigue due to overheating (very hot lah these few days), I didn't get to play it much.

On the side note, maybe this thread should be changed into a general MH thread since the MH3 thread is pretty much dead anyway.

.. but does that means the Monster Hunter G (PS2) we can dive underwater as well? I cant seems to find any detail regarding this..
*
Nope, MHG has no underwater exploration. If you haven't noticed, this topic is mostly discussing about MH3 lol. Not a lot of people cared about MHG because it's a very old game with some new features. To be honest, I bought the MHG starter pack for the Classic Controller (need one for the future) and the MH3 demo. MHG can wait until I'm bored of the demo.

When is the demo releasing? MHG is different from the MH Tri? p/s: I always thought that MH Tri = MHG's english version... Am I wrong?? sad.gif

I'll try to explain it to you with the best of my abilities.

MH Games in Japan sorted according to release time (earliest to latest)

Monster Hunter (PS2)
Monster Hunter G (PS2)
Monster Hunter Portable (PSP)
Monster Hunter 2 / Dos (PS2)
Monster Hunter i (cellphone)
Monster Hunter Portable 2nd (PSP)
Monster Hunter Frontier (PC) <---I think the MH team refuses to acknowledge the existence of this one.
Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G (PSP)
Monster Hunter G (Wii)
Monster Hunter 3 / Tri (Wii - Not yet released)

If you group them according to relevance or rather which generation the games belong to, it will be like this.

1st Generation Monster Hunter
Monster Hunter (PS2)
Monster Hunter G (PS2)
Monster Hunter G (Wii)
Monster Hunter i (cellphone)
Monster Hunter Portable (PSP)

2nd Generation Monster Hunter
Monster Hunter 2 (PS2)
Monster Hunter Portable 2nd (PSP)
Monster Hunter Frontier (PC)
Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G (PSP)

3rd Generation Monster Hunter
Monster Hunter 3 (Wii)

why refuse to acknowledge?

The original team is not involved in the Frontier project and its updates. In the MH 5th anniversary page, all MH games were mentioned except for Frontier.
