30 days = 800 wii points
60 days = 1500 wii points
90 days = 2000 wii points

100 points = 100 yen I think, not sure, never bought any before, can someone confirm that?

Must it be Japanese account to play online? I have to admit I have no knowledge at all regarding console online thing blush.gif

I'm worried if it'll be like PC's version MH. And it's not possible to multi play without paying right? sad.gif

I'm not sure if modded Wiis of other regions can access online, I have a JP Wii so I'm good. MH Frontier was a rip off anyway, charging 1500 yen a month with additional fees to access higher level quests and certain upgrades. I quit after the first 3 months but not before reaching HR99.

Yes.100 point = 100 yen but online retailers(other than japan retailers) selling higher price.
The best price I found is play asia and just bought 3000 points card.

As for Monster Hunter G starter pack,the cheapest is offer by Play-asia.

Yes, I am aware of the 23rd April release date but apparently, another friend of mine who bought it and his is also shipped. I bought the Starter pack which includes the CC (I needed one anyway) and the MH3 demo.

As you can see here, my order is really shipped and I too am surprised that it was shipped so early.

You've seen hunters taking down monsters in the Monster Hunter 3 footage posted earlier. Today we also got some info on the weapon types that will be available to every aspiring hunter looking to take down the beasties that populate the game.

* Small Sword
* Lance
* Hammer
* Bowgun (with 3 customizable parts)
* Big Sword
* Long Blade
* Slash Axe

There's still no word of a North American release for Monster Hunter 3 but considering Capcom's recent push to promote the series outside Japan, we may yet see a stateside release for this game. It's currently scheduled for a Summer 2009 release in Japan.

Longbow, Dual Swords, Hunting Horns are removed from the game and Gunlances now have a new name, Brain Faux/Fox. (I don't know which one sounds right)

Confirmed that Dual Sword, Gunlance, Longbow and Hunting Horn are removed in the game by MH's Producer, Mr. Tsujimoto in an interview by Famitsu. Not much is known about Brain Fox yet but the instruction says that it works like a lance but it could be something know, who knows?

My TV Tuner program a little weird, won't display wide screen properly so I recorded it in 4:3. The game itself can be widescreen if you set your wii settings to 16:9.

I'm kinda in a hurry so I'll just post whatever that comes into my mind minus proper grammar and punctuation, sorry!

Wiimote + nunchuck = A is your primary attack and it is also used to interact, ie box or gathering spots if you're near enough. Attack variants are executed by tilting analog stick upwards and press A or tilt wiimote to the left/right and press A. "-" is also an attack but it is also used to swing the torch around if you have it equipped. + to open menu, trigger button to roll / cancel, 1 is to use items, d-pad is to control camera and finally, running and item selection are the 2 shoulder buttons on your nunchuck. In my opinion, it's a total mess.

Classic Controller control scheme A (MH classic style)
Right analog to attack and left to move. L button to reset camera or open item menu. R is for running. X is to kick and everything else the same to those who are familiar to older MH controls.

Classic Controller control scheme B (MH Portable style)
Don't need to explain this, basically the exact same button layout as the PSP versions but right analog is used to control camera as well.

I tried playing a few missions. It's pretty much the same except the game system is based on MH2. Lack of time and fatigue due to overheating (very hot lah these few days), I didn't get to play it much.

On the side note, maybe this thread should be changed into a general MH thread since the MH3 thread is pretty much dead anyway.

Nope, MHG has no underwater exploration. If you haven't noticed, this topic is mostly discussing about MH3 lol. Not a lot of people cared about MHG because it's a very old game with some new features. To be honest, I bought the MHG starter pack for the Classic Controller (need one for the future) and the MH3 demo. MHG can wait until I'm bored of the demo.

The original team is not involved in the Frontier project and its updates. In the MH 5th anniversary page, all MH games were mentioned except for Frontier.

Tested MH Tri Demo just now, graphics are great, better than MHP2ndG ( I play it on TV 4:3).

I used Wiimote and Nunchuck, having hard time to clear the 1 Star Quest due to different controls from PSP and using Sword and Shield. I cant seem to find Long Sword though, are they removed??? Long Sword is my favorite weapon!

Up down of D pad on the Wiimote is to move the Camera angle.
Left Right of D pad on the Wiimote is to move the Camera from left to right.
Joystick on Nunchuck is to move the player.
Press C is to have center view of player
Hold C is quick access to ITEM.
Holding C and Press A is to use item.
Holding C and Press D pad on Wiimote is to navigate though the Item.
+ button is to draw and keep sword.
- button is to kick? lol
B button is to roll
A button is to attack

Moving the wiimote is to attack as well.

I might miss out 1 button function, i forgot what is it for.

I noticed a bug or maybe not? The boss monster can walk through stone or wall?? Where it runs to another area through big wall rock with a hole underneath it. I tried to squad down and walk but i cant go through, instead i took the a few steps next to the wall rock to get to the next area. Not sure if it is a bug though lol!

The loading time aint that bad after all. From area to area, it tooks like 1-2 seconds or maybe at most 3 seconds only. While the game loading time is reasonable to me at least. Slightly longer than in MHP2ndG.

Cant wait for full english version!

lol
gs rox
ls doesnt work for me, cant feel the umph
ds is not overpowered, it loses sharpness too fast
too bad no hunting horn anymore, they should do something like american idol encore so u need to sing notes n stuff lol

gs got a new "poke" attack. i think they merged ls n gs together (the poke attack is a ls move). however, ls was never actually a real weapon. if u play mhf there are no ls only gs. most of the ls in mhf2 are actually gs in mhf.

so i think maybe u can say sayonara to ls.

sayonara zetsobu sensei~!

i prefer ls though and hammer.

ls is faster than gs to me lol~ use ls easier to cut rathalos or rathian tail whistling.gif

i rather go for hammer than ls...
ls feels weak even tho it can have a very high damage output
gs is indeed slower than ls
lol gs is superior fighting both rathalos and rathian,
rathalos fly up charge sword level 3 while its coming down
rathian shooting 3 fire ball, charge sword level 3 whack head

level 3 charge attack on tigrex always makes him flinch (free attack)

ls u need to somehow disable the target in order to fully utilize the spirit gauge

however i will say ls is superior than gs in 2 aspects
speed
drawattack counter... go youtube u can see people using ls draw attack bosses head as they are charging at the hunter causing the monster to flinch or fall cancelling their attack... expert skills

Language patch is ok by itself (I think...need more info for that), but please be really careful when discussing about it.

Language patch for G is alright since they are not going to release eng version for it

while if Tri US version is officially announced, then eng patch for it is not allowed.

Not really. IIRC ToS states that any 3rd party modifications whatsoever of the game is illegal. It's also in the ToS of most video game messages boards such as gamefaqs. It's like fansubs, just because it isn't licensed in your country doesn't mean it's legal to download it.

well thats what i learn from minegarde lol~

at least when official eng version is gonna release, no mod or patch is release to affect the sales of different region. for g they aint gonna release eng, so patching it for ease of reading and understanding is something understood by everyone.

as much as everyone would want a language patch, it would probably only run on a modded wii...

so are we talking legal anymore?

to run language pack requires modded wii - illegal

n yeah seeing how u have a "jap wii" i m sure ure using an unmodded wii which can play a US monster hunter tri when it comes out wink.gif

Alright listen to me please. I personally don't think there's anything wrong with language patch as long as the game is original. But I would prefer you guys discuss more on the game's gameplay.

Now enjoy your games. laugh.gif

Having a modded wii doesnt mean piracy. Its pretty normal to have a jap wii or us wii or watever since malaysia dont have our own wii.

getting a jap or korean or us wii our choice since it depends on stock availability from the shop.

Again, the reason i modded my wii is because the ability to run homebrew software and different region game as long as the game is original.

apart from that, i'd use cheat on games sometimes using ocarina which means u will need to have a modded wii.

we all know modded stuff is illegal however still its something understandable and no point picking on this issue over and over again trying to be someone holy or saint who only use original all his life.

ok discussion of language patch ends here, lets continue with the game discussion laugh.gif

just on my defense i m just talking about legality, not about piracy... i m sure there are many ppl who pirate (myself included)..

in the us (im not sure about msia), people actually buy both US and Jap consoles. blablabla watever lah, as u said ppl act high n mighty blablabla

my point is the language patch requires (regardless of it being legal or not) an illegally modded wii.

tats all.

back to topic

ls is back in monster hunter 3.. i personally would have preferred them removed and merged back into gs tho... ls took away so many of gs's nice swords
