No hate Kmaru, but taking it pre-workout wouldn't be of any benefit. Moreover, it may be quite detrimental as you may dehydrate yourself quite a bit with pre-workout creatine.

I was referring _specifically_ to _creatine_ pre-workout.
Undeniably, there are so many angles to go at how to take creatine. I just don't think it's a good idea to take it preworkout because you get dehydrated. Moreover, it's not like you get to utilise it immediately anyway. I don't see how consumption of creatine immediately pre-workout would benefit your lift, unless you're saying that it would be absorbed into your muscles (where all the ATP utilisation is going on) within the first 30 minutes. This would of course, be news to me. So without that immediate benefit (knowing that creatine is a maintenance sort of supplement), why would you want to get all dehydrated during your workout? That would only have a negative effect on your lifts! I am suggesting that it would be preferable to take it in the morning way before your workout _with_ carbs and post-workout with carbs where absorption is optimum _and_ dehydration would not be a factor. Added on April 16, 2009, 11:58 pmNo offense to you, but you probably have your belt on too tight. If you look at things in context, you can clearly see that my post was in reference to creatine consumption. However, I'd like to know your opinion on pre-workout creatine. I like the way you just bring down discussions. I'm assuming that because I don't speak behind a bodybuilder's image, my points are all moot to you.
However, in the interest of the discussion at hand.. You're saying pre-workout creatine gives you an immediate strength boost? You're a medic, surely you would agree that it isn't likely that pre-workout creatine gets to your muscles that quickly to be ultilized for energy during the workout. Hence, the cost of dehydration taking creatine pre-workout would be without benefit. Why do something that would only be detrimental to you? That's like, say, taking a fat loss tablet before bedtime. You'd be kept awake like a night owl. I respect your experience in lifting weights, clearly what you're pulling is way a lot more than I would probably imagine of lifting. Similarly, I don't deny that your mentor Terry Gallot has plenty of experience. What I'm asking you is simple, do you really believe that the creatine you take pre-workout gets utilized? I think the main problem going about this is that you seem to see dehydration as a very simple problem that can be easily solved with drinking heaps of water. On the other hand, I feel that dehydrating during your lift can be quite bad for you. So in my opinion, why suffer the inconvenience of being thirsty when taking creatine at _any other time_ would have the same positive effect? Added on April 17, 2009, 1:23 amI wouldn't take it before sex though, dry tongue would really impair my oral skillz. This post has been edited by mofonyx: Apr 17 2009, 03:24 AM |

QUOTE(Kmaru @ Apr 17 2009, 11:35 AM) To counter dehydration is to drink more water. Ppl should drink water during training. Creatine taken for pre workout doesn't gives explosive burst of energy like N.O but it will improve performance in 1 week of time if taken correctly. If you say that it is non beneficial to take it for pre workout , why does Muscletech Nano Vapor, Universal Nutritions Shock Therapy, BSN N.O X-plode, MHP Trac Extreme-NO and so many more contains creatine for their pre workout ?. Most pre-workout that have been created out there contains creatine. So try to tell them that creatin is non benificial for pre. They have done research and proven that creatine is useful for pre. My bad brah. |
