No hate Kmaru, but taking it pre-workout wouldn't be of any benefit. Moreover, it may be quite detrimental as you may dehydrate yourself quite a bit with pre-workout creatine.

Dude. I seriously don't know where you get some of your info from but you're really misleading beginners. I've been taking whey for years preworkout. Hola Bola from bb.com has been doing the same.

Preworkout creatine dehydrates? Obviously, so does creatine taken any other time. Solution? Consume more water.

C'mon... really. What have you been posting recently?

I was referring _specifically_ to _creatine_ pre-workout.

Undeniably, there are so many angles to go at how to take creatine. I just don't think it's a good idea to take it preworkout because you get dehydrated. Moreover, it's not like you get to utilise it immediately anyway.

I don't see how consumption of creatine immediately pre-workout would benefit your lift, unless you're saying that it would be absorbed into your muscles (where all the ATP utilisation is going on) within the first 30 minutes. This would of course, be news to me.

So without that immediate benefit (knowing that creatine is a maintenance sort of supplement), why would you want to get all dehydrated during your workout? That would only have a negative effect on your lifts! sad.gif

I am suggesting that it would be preferable to take it in the morning way before your workout _with_ carbs and post-workout with carbs where absorption is optimum _and_ dehydration would not be a factor.

Added on April 16, 2009, 11:58 pmNo offense to you, but you probably have your belt on too tight. If you look at things in context, you can clearly see that my post was in reference to creatine consumption.

However, I'd like to know your opinion on pre-workout creatine.

Sigh.... do you really need to debate long winded semantics?

Yes, creatine causes dehydration.

----------------> Drink more water. It doesn't matter whether it's taken in the morning, pre and postworkout, before sleep or before sex, creatine will cause dehydration. Again, consume more water.

Btw, Kmaru and I are following the same method of taking creatine pre and post workout. Terry Gallyot has suggested that method of creatine intake to me. A loading those is not necessary and I have noticed strength gains taking creatine preworkout.

I'm not going to mince words. You're like one of those typical individuals which are carried away with such minor little details that you lose sight of the big picture.

chief, are you still on creatine?

I tried to stop it because of stomach bloating but the recovery became much slower and even experienced fatigue.

am in my late 30s and guess my body engine is getting worn out  sweat.gif

No. But you still can take it. Bro I'm in my mid 30's and still going strong.
