Another thing that's been bugging me for some time now, has any of you thought about how you're going to manage a gp's dead body? One day they're all gonna die, what do you do? Is there somewhere to bury our beloved gp? I was thinking of my garden but afraid I don't have the strength to dig deep enough...
*
After my hamster dead, I put it in a nice box, with some food and her favourite Essence of Chicken bottle sad.gif , and burry it in my bf home garden

now another 2 hamster of mine is getting older, I am looking for nice box for them also, it is quite cruel for me, but this is the responsibility as their owner sad.gif

so for gp... i will do the same too

my laddies will eat other vege, but lettuce is their most favourite,  I usually serve them 1 type of vege + 2 carrots in the morning, at most of the time they will eat the carrots first, but if the vege I serve is lettuce, they will dump carrots behind... =.=

Hitz has done an enclosure for his blackie perhaps u can go past our thread here u can see the pics.. U can use wire but it will rust in time.. U can use wire mesh but take note that GPs are chewers =x so don't be surprised if one day its possible for them to chew their way out. Best would be something like the cube material. My husband once told me sometimes the hardware shop can custom make small grills suitable for piggies cages.. but we never tried it before. Perhaps you can view here for some other alternatives - http://www.guineapigcages.com/photos/showgallery.php/cat/512

yes, i faced the same problem before
i think because of small cage and not enough hideout for them
so i put them in larger cage and provide more hideout
now they never sleep in the food bowl, only eating time i think normal
if gp step inside the bowl biggrin.gif

maybe others have difference experiences and can share thumbup.gif

@Xiawa -- nice basket.. but how will you cover it so that they won't go out hehe~ about the pee and poo inside the pellet bowl.. mine sometimes also do that but they usually do that after all the pellets are finished and i havent refilled.. i think its normal.. Try to put the pellets and when they finish eating, take the bowl out. When feeding new pellets only you put back. Also if the height of the bowl is low kind.. thats why they also like to pee and poo inside there.

@vv001 -- don't matter actually where you buy your hay.. but i prefer something that i can actually see.. meaning i can see how green it is.. how fresh it is.. how nice smelling it is.. so thats why i prefer to go out and buy my hay instead of posting. Also sometimes i see people selling hay in those petshops.. they have more stalks than leaves sleep.gif

@hitz -- i just went to both daiso 2-3 days ago.. no cube.. yes there are options like the one mentioned, hehehehe but there is no connectors.. so you will have to tie them up with cable ties.

@katanaz -- cute cute nehhh your piggies laugh.gif
