To the contary, my speaker is more forward sounding so the solid core cables didn't suit my taste. I like 8TC more. 8TC is laid back and gives more details, bass isn't as punchy but it gives more sense of space and high is more airy. Pairing the cables with right equipment is very important.

I have another cable that has better high as if it could go a tad higher. The pace and dynamic is better too. Very stiff and also more expensive  sad.gif  sweat.gif

Yes, system matching is important.

How long is the cable? Can pinjam play play or audition at your pad (if got chance)? smile.gif

Mine was below the 10% rule. All in all it is around 6k. Mainly on kimber and wireworld cables.

wow...60k system u got there...

my cable total less than 1k, mainly from Amazon & Monoprice  sweat.gif
and current in the HT room one is FREE!!! carried over from old owner one...

Taukeh, rough calculation...I think more than that amount. Mainly arising from Paradigm.
Now I regret spending the money. doh.gif I hardly have time to sit and watch.
The system is conquered by my daugther these days. wub.gif

I can see many of you guys spend quite a huge amount for cables  sweat.gif

Just curious how about for surround speakers?

In a HT system, I know most people would spend big portion of money on the amps, then front speakers and centre speaker, wonder if it's worth to spend equally or nearly equal for the surround?
*
My surrounds are paradigm sig adp 3v3. Acquisition price is high. I regret not getting it earlier. It make a huge difference in SQ. Most dealer are reluctant to have a pair of good surrounds for demO. So it's difficult when it comes to the time of putting the hammer. sweat.gif

A new toy just landed. For now, it will be busy driving the ultra difficult and famous for whacking a lot of high end beefy amps to early death loudspeakers. It should be in the showroom by weekend for a private session.

I got my pro kit from Sound Decisions SG, they are the distributor. I had already asked around in KL, nobody knows how to get it.

The difference is quite marginal, IMO, with XT32.
*
Hi bro, how much is it fr SG? may I borrow your pro kit? I pay rental charge on this.

Yes, a dedicated and treated room. I'm using a Denon 4311 with outboard power amps in a 5.1 setup.

I've not spent a lot of time tweaking the Audyssey Pro calibration, in fact I've only had time to run the Pro calibration once. But one thing I did notice was that the Pro calibration is much more consistent - sounded great on my first calibration. But I had to repeat the standard calibration a few times before I was happy with it - even with a tripod+arm to hold the mic.

The kit was SGD820 from Sound Decisions

The price is slightly higher than us steert price. Put on break first.

QUOTE(htkaki @ Jan 19 2012, 12:13 PM)
Quite a good system that you had there. Must be driving good loudspeakers. What was the improvement that you noticed compared to XT32?

SGD820 is very affordable considering that we could not get it from US. Ronald, tunggu apa lagi?  whistling.gif
*
The kit and license would cost about 2.6k. Better to have a listen before putting down the hammer. I m 15/16.

I unhooked my Rpgc today. The sound stage gone. Beh tahan gonna hook it back. Once I kena poison it's hard to retract.

Hopefully it is the case for the pro kit as well. Anyone like to pull the trigger?

The Emotiva amp gain at 32db is of little high perhaps that contribute to the hissing sound as usually the gain for power amp range from 26 - 29db only. I find the XPA-1 a attractive enough for its given price though smile.gif

Any XPA-1 users here?

You may go ahead and pull the trigger. I come listen tongue.gif
