To the contary, my speaker is more forward sounding so the solid core cables didn't suit my taste. I like 8TC more. 8TC is laid back and gives more details, bass isn't as punchy but it gives more sense of space and high is more airy. Pairing the cables with right equipment is very important.

QUOTE(mpyw @ Jan 12 2012, 01:44 PM) wow...60k system u got there... Taukeh, rough calculation...I think more than that amount. Mainly arising from Paradigm. my cable total less than 1k, mainly from Amazon & Monoprice and current in the HT room one is FREE!!! carried over from old owner one... Now I regret spending the money. The system is conquered by my daugther these days. This post has been edited by ronaldjoe: Jan 12 2012, 03:25 PM |

QUOTE(SunofaBeach @ Jan 13 2012, 09:09 AM) I can see many of you guys spend quite a huge amount for cables My surrounds are paradigm sig adp 3v3. Acquisition price is high. I regret not getting it earlier. It make a huge difference in SQ. Most dealer are reluctant to have a pair of good surrounds for demO. So it's difficult when it comes to the time of putting the hammer. Just curious how about for surround speakers? In a HT system, I know most people would spend big portion of money on the amps, then front speakers and centre speaker, wonder if it's worth to spend equally or nearly equal for the surround? |

QUOTE(j22 @ Jan 19 2012, 11:56 AM) Yes, a dedicated and treated room. I'm using a Denon 4311 with outboard power amps in a 5.1 setup. The price is slightly higher than us steert price. Put on break first.I've not spent a lot of time tweaking the Audyssey Pro calibration, in fact I've only had time to run the Pro calibration once. But one thing I did notice was that the Pro calibration is much more consistent - sounded great on my first calibration. But I had to repeat the standard calibration a few times before I was happy with it - even with a tripod+arm to hold the mic. The kit was SGD820 from Sound Decisions QUOTE(htkaki @ Jan 19 2012, 12:13 PM) Quite a good system that you had there. Must be driving good loudspeakers. What was the improvement that you noticed compared to XT32? The kit and license would cost about 2.6k. Better to have a listen before putting down the hammer. I m 15/16. SGD820 is very affordable considering that we could not get it from US. Ronald, tunggu apa lagi? I unhooked my Rpgc today. The sound stage gone. Beh tahan gonna hook it back. Once I kena poison it's hard to retract. Hopefully it is the case for the pro kit as well. Anyone like to pull the trigger? This post has been edited by ronaldjoe: Jan 20 2012, 10:20 AM |

QUOTE(Will.i.am.Smith @ Jan 29 2012, 10:35 PM) Added on January 29, 2012, 10:45 pm The Emotiva amp gain at 32db is of little high perhaps that contribute to the hissing sound as usually the gain for power amp range from 26 - 29db only. I find the XPA-1 a attractive enough for its given price though Any XPA-1 users here? |
