primary problem for engine sourced from renault would be always the spareparts, just look at old waja 1.8x using Renault Laguna 1.8 and Savvy.

unless proton try obtain a license for local manufacturers to produce those parts locally to lower the cost.

Tested the M Line Exora in Mutiara Danansara with 2 adult passengers and 3 kids.

Seating and driving position is better than Saga BLM though the front portion is longer and the edge of the headlight could not be seen from the driver's seat. Interior space for the driver and front passenger is good.

Power delivery is adequate and once you keep up with the momentum the legal cruising speed could be reached easily. I would rate the acceleration better than saga BLM as the power to weight ratio is better.

At slow speed, it may struggle a bit on hill climbing route especially in town . Nonetheless the engine is responsive and could easily rev up to 5000 rpm.

The steering is plasticky( just like the Saga BLM) and despite its length and size, the mpv is easily manoueverable.

The suspension was not truly tested as the test route has good roads.

Below is a brief assessment on my short drive.

Pros

Contemporary exterior design
Good driving position/manoueverability
Interior space with third row seats for adults
Dual blower air conditioner with individual vents
ABS and EBD features
Insulated cabin
Price

Cons

1.6 CPS engine is just adequate
Interior plastic is a rung below the Koreans and the Japanese
Seats and fabric needs to be improved with thicker padding and quality
Dashboard design and the multi media player buttons are too small for the driver to operate.
Interior fittings and design looks ordinary

A quote by a third party on boyy2k video in youtube by funtasticko5"

"i dont agree, just test drive exora uphill and flat road, with 3 people, average 250 kg, the driver itself weigh 115 kg. the exora fuel is full, front and rear aircond full blast, the cps really shines, manage to test until 120kmh at third gear 5000 rpm, but the road too short to test it top speed. will upload the video soon. based on this video, it seems the driver is not familiar in driving auto tranny car,"

The Exora automatic gear will kick down one gear if you press the accelerator hard. If you press gradually,it wont kick down hence you will find the car to be sluggish especially with full load.

From the video boyy2k engaged the "L"gear and the speed was limited to 50km/h despte revving at 6000rpm. He should have changed to gear 3 to gain more speed.
