QUOTE(JDM-R31 @ May 12 2009, 01:49 PM) by restarting, do you mean just power off and then power on? sorry noob here yes power off then on back. Sometimes could be telco problem. If so I have done that, but the problem still appears every now and then. And yeah, I have also received (and made) calls with only one bar reception, which is why I'm confused about this problem. |

Very easy to setup it up. U see on your E71 main screen stated there EMAIL u just follow the instruction.
I did it in 10 mins. If u have unlimited data plan there wont be any additional charges there. |

QUOTE(Optiplex330 @ May 21 2009, 05:22 PM) One more question. With past non-smart Nokia, the one thing I don't like is the slow responsive time. How about these Symbian powered Nokia? Are they better or just as bad? iphone is just good to show off and nice effect beside that alot limitation. The most best joke of all HAHAHA cant bluetooth files to other users.Every OS have its up and down do u think windows is smooth when it started? Of course i am using both 5800XM and E71 no lag and other thing i think iphone is not worth because 2 E71 = 1 Iphone. With that money i can buy a cool notebook and 1 phone so depends how rich u r. If u r rich its for you |

Thats why apple are so rich today? Life are not like those years where ppl buy what is value for money. Today kids spend their parents money or nag PAPA i want that phone. Next they get it. They dun care whether its a good deal or not. Some kids are brought up in a rich family do they care? Only children that are brought up poor will look another way. Some ppl said buy phone will always lose money but to tell u the truth ive sell my phone and made some bucks there. |

If you are okie with the smaller screen this phone is just great.
I do not have the clock screen freezes problem using latest firmware now. Texting EXCELLENT due qwerty GPS i could say its signal is way much better that 5800 XM WIFI just a little disappointing to be because screen too small and too much scrolling within less than an hour your fingers are tired OLD OS due the OS is old there so much games and application for your E71 DRIVING Its kinda near impossible to text while driving. If you are going for reasonable price and good looks this phone is just right for you Added on May 24, 2009, 10:31 am QUOTE(Thrust @ May 24 2009, 10:28 AM) Advise you not to get E71. Go for other models. Where ever I go, everyone is using E71. Sien... It's like a generic phone where everyone is using it. Alot ppl said what you said so symbian are not about who have it but how u customize it. Even my friend all have 5800XM/E71 they are more crazy over my phone even we both have the same phones1) Due to application and games installed 2) The way u customize it 3) The way u tweak it. Like u said all my friends have E71 but why they prefer to play with mine. Simple is what you know This post has been edited by aspire2oo6: May 24 2009, 10:34 AM |

QUOTE(dude35 @ May 24 2009, 10:48 AM) Well said aspire. See it depends on which type r u?want to be different?or want an ultra versatile h/p.e71 is Customizable and has wide range of software. u need to try the qwerty to see if u can use it.I like the solid feel of the fone, just nice.reminds me of the ole 8810. same i like the solid feel of E71 especially its in metal and light.Example certain range of SE phones even you want to customize you cant. Like dud35 said please try qwerty before you buy. For me i prefer qwerty over alphanumberic because i do more than just sms. Qwerty is good for emailing, internet browsing , chatting . Alphanumberic is good for the everyday use words. |

QUOTE(nutricia @ May 24 2009, 01:56 PM) thanks aspire. it is the qwerty, solid form factor & multitasking that lure me to this phone. though it is my first qwerty phone, U can go to Nokia centre to try out the phones. I personally prefer 5800 XM because i have 4 ways of input FULL SCREEN QWERTY and Alphanumberic when one of my hand is busy.i think i can do better than touchscreen phone... |

QUOTE(nutricia @ May 24 2009, 04:55 PM) i read there is a lot of quality issue with this phone. initially, i was leaning towards 5800 xm but came across e71 & just kinda get hook to it. Let me share this experience with you. If u do not know how there always problem everywhere. If you know how there is no problem. I have both E71 and 5800 XM honestly tell u i do not have any problem not even one.well, i'll check it out again & make comparison for both. thanks again. cheers. Try consult a nokia & symbian experts and all your problem will go away. Its like you telling me windows vista is BUG FREE. Added on May 24, 2009, 5:14 pm QUOTE(Underhill @ May 24 2009, 01:28 PM) I'm a touch typist, like most of us here I believe. It's odd and hard to adapt to using two fingers instead of 5 on actual Qwerty keyboard(which is why we have it, so we can blindly type). Just to sharing not showing off. Practice makes perfect. I honestly wonder what's the plus point of Qwerty on mobile phone? We don't remember where the keys are, but instead on the real keyboard, we just put index finger on F and J, little finger on A etc. which is impossible to do on mobile phone. I am typing this on my computer keyboard without looking where the keys are. When u switch to a phone qwerty the same habit adept itself. So on the phone i type without looking too. Its EXACTLY the same just its smaller F and J are just a guide for newbie. When u master the keyboard we do not put our finger at F or J because when u found the first key u will automatic know the spacing of the next alphabet u want. I do all my project and office emailing on my E71. I can provide a demo at your request. This post has been edited by aspire2oo6: May 24 2009, 05:16 PM |

I started with F and J as a guide. When you master or get used to it. Does it matter? Conclusion it gets the job done fast. No point ure so pro with F and J see what happen u cant adept it onto mobile phone QWERTY.
Then it becomes the phone fault. We are human we learn to adept to changes not changes adept to you. I am capable to type at least 55 words and above in 1mins depending on what type of words required. From my understanding the target and goal for QWERTY is to type words that not in the dictionary fast and accurate. There no such thing as right or wrong its what one self prefer. Its kinda true about your actual rules dont apply. From what i notice i type faster than ppl that use the F and J. Just sharing YA |

QUOTE(perani @ May 24 2009, 10:22 PM) m Correct. So whoever buying learn to listen and test it then DECIDE.My advice.... try to play around if you have a chance at any shop. If you feel good then maybe it is suitable for you. If not....? Love it or hate it. Guess why so many people nowadays using it? For me it suits my needs & still the best from my previous phone.... alpha key, WM, touch screen etc. We are not here to argue about F & J. It is about whether the phone suits your needs. Different ppl have different perspective in things. U make the choice |

QUOTE(nutricia @ May 25 2009, 09:27 AM) If u want to fully 100% utlize your E71 or symbian phone i suggest u consult a symbian expert to assist. Symbian not like SE phones or samsung non OS to have more features u need change phone but on OS u can install or upgrade without additional hardware only software required. Or else by a week or 2 u get bored of it and sell.Added on May 25, 2009, 9:42 am QUOTE(kwkean @ May 25 2009, 02:54 AM) Nope, it is all up to the user. I too don't put my finger on the F & J key and I still can type without looking at the keyboard. Best of all, nearly 1/4 of the alphabet button on my keyboard is blank (the paint had wear off). The more you practice, the more comfortable and confident you will get. After some time, you will develop your own way to remember each key. It is just like driving a car, your body will automatically remember what to do next. My speed is 55~60 words per minutes with 98% accuracy (Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing test result). Correct. Same like my wireless keyboard all the keys fade off i can still type without looking its like your fingers know where the next keys are. So i guess its not hardware bug its human bug :/ human incompetent sometimesIt is the same on Qwerty keyboard. At first it is hell freaking hard but once your body recognize the position of the button after some practices, sap sap water already So my advise is practice more with your own personal method This post has been edited by aspire2oo6: May 25 2009, 09:42 AM |

actually I was an ex user of E61i.
The screen and keypad is way larger than E71. When i use E71 it feels not so comfortable everything shrink. Like u said after awhile getting used to its fine. There one tiny advantage 5800 XM over E71. Is the large touch screen so the virtual qwerty also large |
