can tell me where and what is the lastest version of the taiko arcade in malaysia? i've only played the ds & the psp versions, and the version 11 at the Midvalley Jusco, but anyone knows where i can find version 12 locally? i really like the Saitama 2000 song, got a puru combo for it in arcade for hard mode

if memory serves me correctly, there is one in Jusco Tebrau.Not sure of the version tho;...usually play with my wife after movie

for ur info, mv jusco's taiko is only ver10.
unless u r telling me they just change it.

and nop, jusco is the only one bring a decent taiko machine in only.

Man. the only song i play on taiko is "Taisetsuna Mono".

The one in 1-utama is well maintained. tho, they never change to newer ones..

I usually play Hamutaro no Tottoko Uta (go figure) plus any random song. But then I noob laa. For that song I usually only score perfect 100% if played in Beginner mode and can score 99% most of the time in Normal mode. Dare not try Hard mode

Btw, anywhere in Klang Valley got Taiko no Tatsujin 8? Want to try Ken Hirai's Pop Star, and last I check TnT9 and TnT10 dun have that song (either that or I dunno how to find it)

I can confirm the MV Jusco was was version 10 since i just went there yesterday and see my friends play lol.
Lots of pro lolis of this game also there.

Didn't expect a Taiko thread here at all, lol.

I'd only played at the old Taiko 5 machine at TimeSquare, but I'm proud to say that I'd dominated the highscores there (probably it's because I'm one of the few that frequent that particular machine). I don't remember the exact number, but I got an extra digit for the last "Gold" level song on that machine That's the only time I managed to get a full combo on that song.

I'm just sad that some jerk decided to bang on the drums too damn hard that it actually ripped >_<

you dun really have to "manage" to unlock oni mode

just simple head to the hard mode (forest) and keep hitting ur drum (right blue) until an oni appears

I thought you're suppose to hit Left Blue for 10 times while selecting easy mode, or maybe they changed that for the latter versions?

Now, there is a 12.5th version in Mid Valley Jusco and 11th in Setiawangsa Jusco, other Jusco stores have 10th and below. But there is one exclusive, recently the new 1st Avenue shopping mall in Penang, which is not under Jusco, brought in Taiko no Tatsujin 12 Asian.
Oh yeah, forget to introduce myself. I am a Taiko arcade player from Bukit Mertajam, Penang. I have cleared all Oni songs in 8 and 10, now I am playing 12 Asian, left Rotter Tarmination Ura uncleared and I am training hard on it.

The method to play Oni mode depends on version, for the older one (below 6), hit the left drum rim 10 times when you are selecting easy mode, for the newer one, hit the right drum rim 10 times when you are selecting hard mode.
Don't be afraid at Oni mode, it seems hard, but if you practice more, you will get used to it. Keep this in mind: you will find the most interest in this game during your Oni play through.

I went to Mid Valley during Chinese New Year, played Taiko no Tatsujin 12.5 and tried out some new songs there, below are my results:


First play, I am 1P.


I got 1 miss on my first play, I wish there is going to have a 12.5 or above of this game in Penang, then I can get chance to Full Combo it.


Failed it last year, this year, I improved and managed to get it to 魂.
The Full Combo player is Packer Woo.


Failed it last year, but passed it this year.

Passed a few column last year, but passed to 魂 this year.


I am 2P.
After 7 tries, I finally passed it!!! Yeah!!! Now among the Elite Four, I have defeated two of them, I will continue to practice Rotter Tarmination Ura in Penang, then waiting for newer Taiko arcade to challenge Hataraku2000.

Breaking News! One of my Taiko friend from Johor （莫政申）discovered this Taiko arcade in 五福城 sutera mall, Johor. After 1st Avenue in Penang, this is the 2nd time in Malaysia, the non-Jusco arcade center bringing in Taiko arcade !!!
And this time, it's better than the one in 1st Avenue. The appearance of this machine tells us it's 12th version, but 莫政申 played it and proved it to be 12.5th version, which is like the one in Mid Valley !!!
Oh God !!! There are more and more arcade centers in Malaysia having Taiko arcade !!!

After 3 weeks of training, I finally passed Rotter Tarmination Ura today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yeah!!!!!!! Now I have beaten 3 from the Elite Four!!!!!
Just now, I played it 5 times, but passed only 2 times. Never mind, next time I will start to practice to sure pass it.
Now, I have passed all the 9 stars and 10 stars in 12 Asia, it's time to try out the 8 stars and below songs.
Besides, to hone my skill, from now on, I will start to practice to sure full most of the songs.

Sorry, but there is an error about the Sutera Mall's Taiko arcade.
After being examined by a more experienced Taiko player from there, the Taiko arcade over there is proved to be only a plain 12th version.
But its price is really cheap, RM 1.50 per 4 songs!!!

Didn't have much improvement yesterday, I played Rotter Tarmination Ura again 4 times and passed 2 times, and the miss I got was around 50 to 65, my next objective is to practice this music until I can get less than 40 misses.
Then, I am still continue to practice to Full Combo all the other new songs, many of them are close to Full Combo, hope I will full them next time.

Finally I can sure pass Rotter Tarmination ura, but I think I am not going to make it to less than 50 misses since I will go to UTAR Kampar soon. Currently there is no Taiko arcade in Perak, so I can only play Taiko arcade in Penang again during holidays, or waiting for Jusco Pengkalan to open on 2012.
Besides, I finally 魂 Angel Dream ura, and I also success to combo the third long notes in KitaSaitama2000.

Now Penang got Chinese Taiko 12 machine at 1st avenue.

Difference is got chinese song. one that i know is "super star" from S.H.E

But unfortunately, some of my favourite songs like やわらか戦車 裏 and ウッーウッーウマウマ（゜∀゜）are not available in Asia version......
Well, I still satisfy since I have passed all the 9 and 10 star Oni songs on it.

Haha I suck in Taiko. My max score is only 2.1 million for playing 2 songs, but can never go above that

Stop being humble, you are very pro already! My maximum point for 2 songs is only 2 million. It is not easy to Full Combo plus getting near maximum perfect for two songs in a row.

It depends;

10 star Oni song: Max score around 1.2m
9 star Oni song: Max score around 1.1m
8 star Oni song: Max score around 1.05m
7 star Oni song: Max score around 1m

Please note that there are some outlier songs which has higher scores than the normal range.

And of course, if your drum rolls are crazy you'll score higher.

After 3 months staying at Kampar, I finally reunite with Taiko arcade yesterday, I really enjoy myself yesterday and what surprised me is that my skill still maintains even through I don't touch the arcade for a long time, and I also got better results for some songs.
I also met with two new active Taiko players in 1st Avenue, they just started to play Oni 6 and 7 stars song, but I believe they will improve more in no time.
I also discovered there is a Taiko 4 arcade in the newly open Tesco in Tanjung Bunga, Penang, old version is okay...... But its drums is in totally bad condition......
I will play Taiko arcade again this Friday and Saturday, and I will try out some new stuffs......

So, like, I tried on Taiko14 today, and I find the difficulty spike between hard mode and Oni mode is insane. Not even the older very hard mode (the gold/yellow mode in earlier games) is this hard. Gonna be stuck at hard mode for a while to learn the songs until I get good at those crazy songs

Just curious, since I've never got to play this game (yet! XD), do they have Vocaloid songs? *^*

yesterday i got to play Taiko no tatsujin 14 machine at Mid Valley, my fav was the Saitama 2000, then after that right when i was about to choose the 2nd song, something wrong with the drum, it accidentally let me choose a song. When i played it, it's a compilation of all of the 2000-series songs, i was like @_@ and kinda lost my spirit half-way


of course there are, plenty of em , i played it and it got Miku sprites in it

I tried the one in MV yesterday too, was disappointed because it's only 2 songs per game. You get 3 on the BTS machine.
