Im looking for audio receiver (+ speaker set) that is able to accept sound from multiple source

i) optical in
ii) stereo

and must be 5.1 channel


kindly advise....


i've viewed most receiver in tesco/seng heng etc but none of it has optical input

try the JVC DH-5/DH7

Tonnes alot of HIB support Optical Input nowdays

care to share 1 model in particular?

I believe you are looking for a HTIB (home theater in a box) bcoz all recent AV receiver must have optical in, otherwise they cannot receive audio from a DVD player.

If you are looking for a HTIB with the above features, one of the options is LG HT503TH, HT503PH, HT503SH. They are basically the same except different speaker size combination. All are below RM1000. Go to their website and download the user manual to see the details on input/output connections or KLCC showroom

just to share my opinion
the TH-D7 sounds pretty good but a bit weak on the bass
if you are a bass head, you should consider Pioneers
Do you need wireless connection to the rear speakers? If yes, you choices would be more limited

i am interested to get the Pioneer HTZ171 is RM899 from Harvey N

If you are using Panasonic Plasma/LCD TVs, then I suggest you get the same brand HTIB, so that you can take advantage of the viera link.
Viera link is where the TV and HTIB is linked and you can use 1 remote to control both devices.

I think it applies to other brand too. Correct me if I am wrong.
