Hi gals, do you know how to spot Fake Coach Handbag? Pls share.

Below is what I found from google;

Tips to determining authenticity for a Signature Coach Bag
'The simplest way in determining authenticity would be examining the layout of the signature C’s. The C’s should be lined up perfectly to the center. However, it is not uncommon for the mini-signature C collections to be off by tiny bit only on the sides. So don’t panic.'

Attached Image Fake
Attached Image Authentic

'Look closely at the Coach "C" logos on the outside of the bag. On some Coach
bags you will find that the logo does not line up at the side seams.
What is most important is that on all signature Coach bags the logo will always
be symmetrical across the front and back of the bag. When looking at the front
or back of the bag the "C's" will touch at the exact center of the panel. If
there is a seam down the center of the front or back panel the pattern will
match exactly across the seam. If there is a stripe then the pattern will be
symmetrical on either side of the stripe, basically a mirror image.

Notice whether any of the "C" logos are cut off at any of the bag's edges or
seams. An authentic Coach bag does not display a logo that has been severed or
partially sewn into a seam. No matter how slight the compromise may be, the "C"
should be completely intact.'

Maybe you are right. This is just some guideline that I found from ‘google’. Anyway, I saw some seller are selling fake Coach bag but claimed their item are authentic. Therefore, we must be more careful when buying designer bag through online. Anyone can share besides checking symmetrical of the "C" logos?

As for any other fake vs genuine handbag, I'll usually look at their "jahitan" (the needle work)... The genuine one is neat and tidy while the fake one will usually...well..just look bad..Not tidy nor neat, offset, and they will usually use those cheap fine and fragile thread. smile.gif

Take a look at the pattern on the outside fabric. The majority of the Coach brand has a logo of C. The C brand logo should start at the center of the bag and go out. The middle seem should go straight through the middle of the C. Take a look at the side seems. The "C" pattern will be cut off on fake bags. Also, on authentic bags the tip of the C should touch the tip of an opposite C.

A Coach bag is fake when the logo is incorrect. Some distributors change the logo to include GG instead of CC. This is a tall tail sign that the bag is fake. Pay close attention the fabric, it can tell you a lot about the quality and authenticity of a bag. Also, take a look at the stitching of the bag. Coach does not deliver authentic coach bags with poor stitching. Stitching that is off line or overlapping. Both are examples of very poor stitching.

Take a look at the inner lining. Does the inner lining have the signature logo of Coach? If so, is the CC touching as the outside. Once again, how about the stitching? Is it sloppy? Look for a serial number inside the bag. The serial number is stamped on the inside on a square patch of leather sewn into the lining. Don't be surprised this your smaller purse (the clutch, swing back, or mini) does not have a serial number. These bags don't come with them.

Coach only uses the best hardware for their bags. Case to point, the zipper. Coach only used that highest manufacturer of zippers. The brand stamps their mark on all of their zippers with "YKK". If you don't see the "YKK" you know you have a fake Coach bag.

Coach does have bags made in China. But Coach does not have bags made in Korea or Thailand. If you get a bag that says make in Korea or Thailand, take it back or return it immediately. This is not an authentic Coach bag.

Previously i watched this taiwan program - ladies 1st..
They have this topic bout how to spot for fake LV bags...

some like coach here.. on the C logo.. stiching.. material.. lining etc..
But.. there are those Grade AA ones which does pass thru all these requirements...

Say like normal LV is 5k... these Grade AA u can get it at 500... quite pricey too.. but they do look exactly like the authentic ones..
but that is LV.. not sure whether coach have that fake Grade AA in the market...
