UPDATE - INTERNET SERVICES RESTORATION

Dear Valued Customers,

Telekom Malaysia Berhad ™ is pleased to inform its customers that the restoration works on the Asia Pacific Cable Network 2 (APCN2) near Chongming, China connecting Malaysia to the United States has been completed.

Meanwhile, there is a delay in the restoration date for the Southeast Asia-Middle East-Western Europe 3 (SMW3) cable network between Tuas, Singapore and Penang linking Malaysia due to technical problems at the repairing stages. Due to the delay, full recovery of SMW3 cable network is now expected to be on 17 April 2009.

However, to date, TM has already recovered 97% bandwidth capacity for its Internet traffic to Hong Kong and North America.

TM Internet and IP services as well as other critical business applications linked to the US and Hong Kong has resumed normal operations since 10 April 2009.

We would like to thank our customers for their patience during the affected period. Customers can call TM at 100 and select “Internet Services” or e-mail us at help@tm.com.my for any Internet related problems.
Thank You.

dis is the shity crawling service v get from 97% bandwidth?................ rolleyes.gif
QUOTE(fabianz03 @ Apr 10 2009, 09:15 PM)
It's just rediculous, It said that the link will be fully fixed by 9th April 2009.
But now? Crawling to 17th April 2009?

Hey guys, can I ask how to make a rebate? Or request a rebate?

Call them? e-mail them?
Reply A-S-A-P.

Thanks.  icon_question.gif

call CS, complain until dey open up a report.
den sent a complain e-mail to help@tm.
in the email, include ur a/c detail, report number, tell ur complains, give some hard evidence, like screenshot of ur dl speed, den demand for rebate.

den wait for reply.

Record your screenshots and loading of webpages.

Then call for a press conference to demand explanation from their CEO and upper management people.

Days like "Sehari Bersama Pelanggan" are the best time to hentam their management for proper explanation.
*
i'm gonna do dat later if dey still cannot settle my report.

i edi send tons of speedtest, screenshots & ping result to em.................... mad.gif

Print them out and copy the image files/video into your thumbdrive(be sure to make backups at home)!

Hentam them will all those evidence and demand a good explanation.

Just don't forget. DO NOT use TMnet's very own Bandwidth Speedometer or local in-house test servers to test.
Do it with Singaporean, Taiwanese and Japanese servers.

Take my word, their own public test servers have be tweaked to give you excellent results which are biased/inaccurate.
Many cable isps in the US are already doing this such as Comcast with their Speed Burst solution which gives you burst up speeds for the first few minutes.

TM be prepared because you'll be answerable to the public.
*
the only reason i still not doing it is dat 1st, my exam cmg, bz, 2) uploading will b pain in the ass................

as for their speedtest, even their own tm technician r train not 2 use it.

how you send screenshots? as i know, their feedback form only can type text..you give them the link?
*
mail to dem.

btw, wen u call the helpline & speak to cs, dey always cover up so he/she dun hav 2 open up a report.
example, it is clearly stated dat the US & HK sites r fixed, but somehow the CS refuse & says its not fix, i got fedup talking to dem.
& there is no use if u ask dem to send technician to ur house, wat technician can do is troubleshoot ur line physically & up/down the capped speed.
the problem now is within the TM, ie, routing sux, only the higher authorities can do something bout it.

btw, TM does admit to me dat the hav problem wit routing & packets lost. according to dem, 60.5x routing shud b fixed already, but i still experience slowness on those IP range.
MU, & RS crawls........... rclxub.gif

good thing is, @ least dey now really knows wats the problem not not covering up like those CS.
