Such excuse is getting boring and they need new excuse for their last minute and lazy actions as well as covering up problems.

The customer service is innocent, yes its true. They are all TM staff who have to be sacrifice to shield off angry customers. That is why they have the lowest clearance on information and contacts. Any further conversation between us and them is based on the representative and they are not trained for it either. Conclusion? They could end up giving you the senseless solution ever.

I faced the worse where they said Streamyx isnt supported in Mac OSX 10.5 and asked me to change to PC and Windows, throwing in the Laptop and Streamyx line combo promotion crap to me.

Overall, i am bored of how things run locally and would rather spend my precious time seeking off-board jobs than waiting for the ever delay fix on the net.

60.54 here

Downloading is now being good giving me the usual 100kbs speed hope this can keep up

Only a couple IPs have good speed. 60.49.x is one of them too but its really hard to dial for it.

Speed is normal now but with string attached. Rubberband effect on latency.

Peak hour just hit in. No improvements like what we get to enjoy this morning.

Since i am able to play games at work, the server i connected to is located in Norway and connectivity is just as bad as before. As i am typing this, i am downloading a 5.9mb pdf file from Autodesk and its going @ 3kb/s.

my speed on this morning.. if i can get this speed at night too...  notworthy.gif  notworthy.gif

The analogy is very identical to the public roads in Malaysia, Small / cramp roads, many cars, jam at peak hours. (Reflection : Low bandwidth, many users, bottleneck at peak hours)

I am not going to comment more, tired with all the crap.

Training to be provided but will they practice? No matter how many offerings that provided, none satisfy its consumers. Whats next? Canceling of FTTH, technicians loss fingers while cable installation.

Like i said in my previous post. Not all IP have good routes. From my side, 60.49.x is very smooth with rubberband effect, 60.50 and 181.110 is not usable. Browsing, downloading, gaming, streaming, results returned with disconnection, timeout, connection interrupted.. etc.

Consider lucky if you have your line back while many of us still face uber 24.4kbps nightmare.

Surely more reasons to cover up their "laziness" or the Malaysian signature attitude, blaming others.

+1. Allow me to start first.

What is the problem: Frequent disconnection to US / UK servers. Mainly the game i play, Anarchy Online, server is located in Norway. Inconsistent download and uprate. Latency fluctuate between 670 ~ 1200ms (Sorry, ingame monitor so couldnt do external ping test for raw text results) which cause unexpected disconnection.

Bandwidth is too weak to maintain two connections.
IP Range:60.50 , 60.49
Area: Kelana Jaya, SS26
State: Selangor
When this problem started: Since early this year. After Chinese New Year and condition worsen by the April Fool "joke" by TM.

Haha i couldnt resist torturing the stupid "technician" he come my house cause i complaint internet slow.

I give him to use My PCs = he die

( My OSs = Ubuntu 8.10 , OpenGEU, OpenSUSE 11.1, FreeBSD 7.1 , MintLinux, Debian 5 and PCLinuxOS )

He totally clueless.

Then he ask my PC which got windows. I give him my other PC, windows 7 beta, he ask me if it is Vista or not.
smile.gif
*
Ouch, serve that technician right tongue.gif

I encountered a much different situation. Called up customer support. When they asked about my OS, i told them Windows 7. The customer service, who is a she, said, Windows 7? The latest is Windows Vista, Windows 7 is like so old, how could you think Streamyx can support it? I laughed and i then said Mac OS X 10.5 since i have a Mac Book Pro connected to the same line. Instead, shes clueless again and ended up slapping me with a laptop/pc + streamyx line combo promotion and conclude the conversation by, Streamyx only supported Windows, if your speed is slow, change your OS.

I should have record the conversation. Was so humorous. laugh.gif

Its peak hour now for after work access. Majority of the IPs will be bottleneck and mostly will slow down after 12am. What TM is doing now is to piss us off. The new Malaysian style, Tak suka guna, jangan guna!

Frankly, there is more than a cable fault behind this situation. Its uncommon to have major lines down at the same time, different direction.

They currently have 150Gbps backbone.
When HSBB roll out, hopefully they'll upgrade to 250Gbps or something, or not we all suffer.
*
No matter how big is the backbone they are rolling, it will be still square one. Its not the technology that set us back to current stage, its the people behind it is the culprit for everything. We have the resource to experiment, to beta test connections, its just the matter of when, where and how.

3 years ago before the taiwan earthquake. It was like heaven with stable 2mbps speed and everything else. Its so much different since then, packet loss, timeouts, high international link pings.

Seriously i can't take it anymore. Not that i don't want to complain, it took me half hour to connect to their stupid agents then listen to the stupid comments instrusted me to troubleshoot my poor router.

Feels like want to migrate to SG. How nice if i can surf using SCV.

75% i would say.. they will respond with the usual please reset your router / modem and wait for 15 mins. Restart your computer as well. Make sure etc etc.. the list goes on.

I like how solid is the email is, sadly i have no patience to explain every single problem we currently facing. Still good job! thumbup.gif

How odd mate, 60.49 pissed me off totally. My main connectivity is to EU and nothing can be done. At least for 60.50.x i get to connect to EU content with decently good ping but with rubberband side effect that sometimes will throw me with timeouts and connection interruption.

QUOTE(saukoon @ Apr 22 2009, 11:55 PM)
i'm just back from johore (at kl now), the streamyx at both places are slow.

Anyway I found that if I tried to make a connection in the morning, at least I could get a good connection which rapidshare can reach 80kbps. Any if continued to maintain this connection, I could still get 50kbps at night.

That's really weird as there's no way to get such 'good ip' except in the morning..
*
The majority isnt up for internet that is why. You have better chance of "rolling" for a much stable IP sets.
