For wired BB, he/she must register the phoneline (deposit higher than malaysian one...like mobile postpaid foreigner deposit RM350 or RM700 forgotten) that is to prevent they dont pay..
Just go to the nearest TMPoint to ask...Or if u want wireless try P1 or Maxis

How long do you plan to live in Malaysia

That's my question. If you're going to be here for 1 year + , I would say streamyx

Nope, no typo. They gouge foreigners. Top of my bill: "Cagaran: RM 1,075.00". I don't understand how I could possibly rack up such a high bill with IDD barred.

Just what I thought with my fixed line. My last bill was 2.85 for calls!

It's all part of Malaysia's policy of rip the foreigner off. How can a country which is trying to increase tourism openly charge non malaysian tourists more hmm.gif

This is deposit that can be refunded when service is terminate.

If this foreinger paid no deposit, or paid only the rm75 deposit and called up a few hundred or thousand and then cabut and return back to thier country, TM cannot find them nor collect the money, then TM has to take a loss. Which means Malaysian people get less benefit of dicsount or promotion etc etc.

Also, remember that TM paid interest for the deposit of 5% and credited into Feb phone bill.

cheapest way:

Celcom Prepaid Broadband, RM20 weekly, 20x4 = RM80 monthly.

Speed is at 384kbps, require a UMTS phone/Data Card to operate.

Simple~!, but the service err~! welcome to malaysia.

That's unfair to customers. They should let the customer choose how much deposit to leave, and allow the customer that much credit. If I leave RM100 deposit, I have to pay my bill after it reaches RM100. If I leave RM2000 deposit, I can run my bill up to RM2000.

As it is now, a considerable number of foreigners never receive their deposit back, because TM takes a long time to process it, and won't send it overseas (and there many other conditions too). The only sure way to get your deposit back is to give up your fixed line and streamyx about 2 months before you leave Malaysia. It's ridiculous, but I see why TM does it this way; over the years they have stolen millions of ringgit from foreigners. The victims are already out of the country and mostly won't/can't complain. The perfect crime.

I'm in another even stupider situation; they split my account into two right after I made a payment and now I get two bills each month, one of them with a large credit that they refuse to rebate to me or apply to my other account. So in addition to most likely never seeing my RM1075 deposit, they have stack of my money I'll never see either.
