you think = bad answer. go check the website before buying...
its strange, you're willing to spend so much money without making sure that the thing you buy will work or not.

if you wanna start fresh, yeah, go buy the drive, swap the old one out, and install from the recovery CD.

@JohnnyBeGud not true. some new 2.5" are more than 9.5mm... so will not fit a MacBook / Pro.

@ forger 1. IINM, OWC doesn't have resellers. so please get it directly  2. last time I asked, they wanted RM900 to replace the drive, cos it was out of warranty. at that price i'd disable the drive n use an external USB drive

@ BRY7 of course MBA Superdrive doesn't work, its mentioned on the website that it only works with certain newer Macs.
I've used 3rd party drives... no problems so far, USB & FW both.

@ six footer nope, HDD is a user removable upgrade. just make sure not to scratch / damage anything when upgrading. if you're worried about DIY, I'm sure some of us here don't mind doing it for you, just buy us dinner

@ BRY7 cos the KVR is not guaranteed to work 100%. its like using low-end tyres on your car. if someone only drives from home to office and back, its fine. but if you're the kind of driver who has a need for speed, you sendiri mau jaga la

KTA vs Apple RAM should have no difference… KTA is Kingston RAM set to Apple specifications.
@izzi_guy did you do any testing, to verify? cos I used KVR on my iMac … no difference …
