I have searched entire lowyat and also wikipedia for the type of pillow available at market but the search are abandoned with only few information about it so I believed experience and knowledge from forum are need for this.

I'm currently searching for comfort pillow but before that I need to know some info about it because salesgirl at supermarket tell me different story about it.

Material for pillow that I have seen in the market :-

- Durofil
- Goose Feather
- Microfiber
- Micro gel
- Latex
- Those therapeutic pillow

Brands That I have searched before

- Dorma
- Friven
- Akemi
- Aussino
- Getha
- Dunlopillo

As for the material used and the brand, this pillow prices are different, so I would like to ask who know about it, please come share your experience here. I want to know what the different of those materials too.

Will keep an eye on this thread cos ALL the pillows I ever had became flatten after a few months use vmad.gif

I'm looking for some durable pillow that the shape and quality does not easily changed.

I could disagree on this because currently I'm using goose down pillow. Its become flatten when it reached 2 month times. Some more, the pillow itself are too hot when you are not on aircond.

I have read this advise before I bought my latest feather pillow. Unfortunately our M'sia stores do not accept "Test the pillow at home. Many stores will accept a returned pillow, which allows you to take said pillow home to really see how it performs. Make sure to check the store’s return policy on pillows before trying this. If you sleep well for a couple nights with a single pillow, you’ve found the one." except for Ikea.

Last Sunday I went to Getha at Sunway Pyramid, the salesgril asked me to bought their Latex pillow which guarantee for 5 years. I have made my mind to try this but want to ask advice here first. It cost around 149/piece.

i suggest therapeutic pillow. once u rest your head on it, u will never want to have those conventional pillow any more.

Tempur

i am not using this brand, but i know u can customize the size of the pillow to suit your need, i am talking not just about the thickness, but the length and width as well.

I bought Orthorest brand of bed frame and mattresses (king size), got 4 free therapeutic pillows. The pillow is using the same material as Tempur if i am not wrong. it's very very comfy.

Tempur is more expensive while Orthorest pillow cost about RM200.

I'm using latex brand Getha RM50... good for me and it keeps its shape. Only problem for me is the strong rubber smell when it’s new. Nothing drooling won’t fix tongue.gif

Friven RM35 (during sale) - antibacterial microfibre, it's comfortable, I choose the ones that are full of stuffing so it doesn't loose its shape. Good head support but I primarily prefer latex.

Feathers tend to move to the side and the middle becomes flat (no support), girlfriend uses feathers pillow brand Ikea RM (I dunno).

Dry cleaning probably won't remove the smell because it's doesn't penetrate into the pillow and only cleans the outside.

Usually cheapo pillows the manufacturer didn't wash the feathers properly to remove those waxy coating on feathers. That's why you have the smell sweat.gif

Try down feathers coz IMHO regular feathers tend to poke, Ikea pillow confirm no smell icon_rolleyes.gif

I'm using down goose feather. It smell after 1 month I used it. Why n where do you get Getha Latex at Rm50? Last time I went Getha showroom, they said Rm149. Is latex good to support your neck? Is the pillow will become flatten after sometime?

Tempur are quite well known brand from Germany. But they are too pricey. Latex Tempur would cost you about 700 while the cheapest Tempur is about 400. You can see it at Harvey Norman or Parkson Pavillion.

I am using Getha latex pillow. yep, this is the best pillow for me so far. Feather pillow is for me to hug only. I have a Dunlopillo Latex pillow, too high for me though.
