Do you have Apple Care Protection Plan?
*
the AppleCare Protection Plan for notebook computers does not cover batteries that have failed or are exhibiting diminished capacity except when the failure or diminished capacity is the result of a manufacturing defect

try lowering ur brightness even more and take out the pendrive. if u watch movie/video definately it will drain ur battery faster.

I have a macbook 5,1 2.0Ghz

Is it normal for the battery health to drop by 3% after a year usage while the battery cycle is only 43 count?
*
for a year old battery, 3% drop is reasonable.. dont tell me u want it to show as 100%
