What is the issue?
*
sorry, just realised you guys can't see it via screenshots.

There are horizontal lines appearing on the screen. Lines, separated by maybe 1mm, from top to bottom. I think it could be the connection problem between the screen and the motherboard.

I'm using MBP touchbar 2018.

Send to check, display issue is best capture by photo or video, not screenshot.

after checking (paid RM120), they said display issue, charge RM 2300.
And because I dropped my MBP once, they said possibly unable to fix the casing, so may need to change, charge another RM2300.

If like that, I might as well get a new laptop or iPad?

but I think the display should be the flex gate issue, that fix also RM2300? sad.gif

Exact problem like this guy: https://www.ifixit.com/Answers/View/482777/...lid+half+closed

I just opened the MBP one day and the lines appear! I didn't do anything else.

Apple only offer free replacement for 2016 13-inch on flex gate issue. Any other model they no offer and subject to case-to-case. For country that have official Apple store you might have better chance. But if your unit have cosmetic defect like dent they can easily refuse it and says it’s physically caused.

Yes. Display is always not cheap. Want all the best color, retina and slim. It come in cost. Let's put it other way around, when you buy the Mac cost 5-6k (at lease), the display make up huge part of the Mac.

my MBP is about 8k. sad.gif

and I asked about the butterfly keyboard that they are supposed to change for free, but since I dropped my MBP once, it voided the warranty so they can't change it for me for free. Sigh .....

so should I get a new Macbook Air instead? Or a new iPad Air? How much can I sell this 2018 MBP touch bar now, with this type of screen?
