the thing is, my mom threw out the cd without me knowing. [yea living with parents]. i have no idea what to do.

last time i open with safe mode, it still hangs, but havent tried doing it again recently.

See if you can borrow a copy of the install DVD from a friend who is using the same type of Mac. If not, you will need to call AppleCare to purchase a replacement DVD.

If you want to get it repaired at Machines, I suggest you take it direct to their service centre at Northpoint Office instead of their retail outlets.

Hi,

Can anyone help? I have a cd installation/set up disk trapped inside the dvd rom of my macbook. i was trying to set up my new modem router when it happened. The cd is not the standard ones but the smaller sized ones. I guess thats why it cannot be read and i cant eject it out.

Please help. Do i need to send it in to machines?
*
Restart the mac and immediately press and hold down the Mouse button. This will force the cd to eject. If you do not have a mouse, press and hold down the trackpad button instead immediately upon restart. It will force eject your media.

Hope this will help

That's doesn't help, he inserted a non standard size disc into the slot loading drive. Only way to get it out is by removing the drive. Further trying to use the drive or force eject the disc will cause damage to the internal mechanism.
*
I thought it will activate the eject mechanism of the drive. I always get to hear the eject mechanism working even if there was no media in it. Anyway, worth a try?

nope it wont. i believe ANY slot-loading drive isn't designed to accept mini-discs
*
That is true. However, at least try to get the eject mechanism to activate to try and force ejectnout the non standard disc. You have nothing to lose. If thisnfail, then no choice but to take it to a Apple Service Centre

Hi guys, my macbook aluminium late 2008 battery has swollen. I read from the other countries apple forum, they said they can get a free replacement. How can I get it in Malaysia? Has anybody done it yet?
*
I would suggest you call AppleCare and explain to them the problem. If they are convinced on the defect, they may give you a free replacement. Usually, they will give you a case no. This case no. You will then provide our local service provider who will use this reference to get the necessary instructions from Apple.

Do call AppleCare first before visiting the service provider

I’m looking repairing my MacBook Pro 15 mid 2010.
Generally it’s working well except when you use the graphic card instead of the integrated graphics. I’ll get a Kernel panic
I’m wondering whether anyone can repair the logic board by replacing the capacitor C9560. From the internet this is the solution. If yes how much would this cost.

Initially right speaker started to make crackling sound, then I adjusted to play with left speaker only and then now both is broken producing crackling sound.

May I know what is the estimated cost for the speaker replacement?

If you get it replaced at Apple Service Centre it’s around RM450.

Macbook Pro 15' 2017, battery bloated when to service centre (Sabah), they asked for Rm2700++ for the battery replacement , almost had a heart attack on the spot. told me they need to change the battery with the metal plate. and the cycle count is around 309, any options but to replace myself? any suggestions are welcome, thank you!

The recall is for 2015 model. Not 2017.

I had my MacBook Pro 15” battery replaced before by Apple FOC. I had only had to pay for labour. After calling Apple, inform them of the battery requiring service and my battery within low cycles count of less than 400, they offered me a new battery replacement without charge but pay for labour. They then gave me a case ID and I went to an Apple Service Provider to get the battery changed.
