I have Macbook Air 2011 and 2017. Running roblox the macbook felt very warm and I checked the temperature it somestimes hit 100C which is very bad despite the fan running at full blast. My 2011 air finally fried with 3 beeps error no boot finally. The unit twice sent for a board repair he said roblox will harm the macbook and could fry the processor solder interconnection which could lead no boot. I was a bit suprise software/games could fry your device.

The device are simply not made for such task. You already saw the temperature hit 100ºC and still carry on. The fan and heat sink on the Air are very tiny. The new one doesn't even have a fan. So please, do not let it run over 85ºC.

I was surprised because my tablet like laptop (actually like MS Surface) running Roblox no problem at all for overheating. That unit no fan, no hole vent, nothing. I thought the newer CPU 14nm I5 for 2017 macbook air solve the overheat issue, but the 2017 unit also hit 100C.

the remedy for the 3 beeps NO BOOT Macbook Air, I disassembled the motherboard and throw it inside the baking oven at 200C for 7 minutes.

Since the old 2011 Macbook Air no more warranty I got nothing to lose haha. The result, my Macbook is working normally again. No more gaming on my mac.

I got Mac Pro 2010. Cant turn on and no beep sound when I remove RAM. Suspect mobo problem.

GPU work fine as I test it on my pc.

How much to fix it and is it worth it?

most likely the mobo, the rest normally wont be easily faulty. the thing u can try is to remove everything leaving only MOBO. clean it with electronic chemical for any dirt or slight correction at the contact pin. In my case I use a degreaser a bit harsher but it is up to you. later I rinse the mobo with a spray water to remove the chemical, then leave it dry or use a hair dryer.

then try assemble everything see if it is can be turned on or not. if is still fail, last resort I normally put the mobo in the baking oven 175-200C at most 7 minutes.

any reason why u need to bake? and how much for replacement?
*
the reason = any electronic parts which includes the mobo has a lot of components especially the microprocessor/microchip. the only holding the chips on that motherboard is the glue+solder. after sometime or even heavy multitasking to the point of high temp 80-90C this bonding could fracture/weak until one of its leg/pin came off from the board = no more contact. this will result for no boot up, beep, other weird error. this happen several times to my macbook air 2011. Under high intensive task or even gaming for Roblox i notice the CPU temp raised up to 90-95C. After prolonged usage at this temp, the macbook failed to ON like beeping, sometimes only Fan running but no boot. It happened 2-3 times already I noticed. The solution i baked the mother board in the oven, since it is no longer under warranty I dont mind at all doing it. It works flawlessly after the baking, no replacement parts whatsoever during the process. totally bake the motherboard. The unit then able to boot and can use like normal. Now I learn my lession, macbook air or maybe other macbook, you need to ensure the CPU temp never hit 80 and above for a very long time.

Not only motherboard, I also baked my old GTX 9800++ graphic cards after it has some weird error artifact on the screen. it restore my card well till today
