Any idea how much does it cost to change Macbook's (Aluminium 2008 model) battery? Mine seems bloated and it's affecting the trackpad (not clickable).

Hey, you can find it on eBay and Amazon too.

Cheaper than Apple Store, but I am not sure whether it is genuine or not.

Hello, I have 1 question..The situation is like here, I already quit all my applications then shut down. Sometimes, when i open back my macbook, the finder is already open and pop out at desktop. is it normal ? 😰
*
Hmm, maybe you did not close the Finder window when you shut it down ?

When you shut down your Mac, uncheck the 'Reopen windows when logging back in" box.

Hmm, can we quit Finder window ??  hmm.gif

If you want to have "Quit Finder" option enabled in menu bar, type the command below in Terminal

CODE
defaults write com.apple.finder QuitMenuItem -bool YES

Hit enter and proceed with the command below

CODE
killall Finder

And press enter.

i'm using macbook pro 13" model A1278
change to new keyboard due water spill to old keyboard.
after change new keyboard, when i on my macbook, option key is auto press. when i open keyboard viewer, yes the option key is press so i cannot do typing due all key change to symbol. is it a keyboard problem that i need to change it again or sumting else?
*
Probably the Option key is stuck down there. Temporary solution so you can type is to disable the Option key in System Preferences.

System Preferences > Keyboard > Modifier Keys > Option Key > No Action

i suspect there is a problem with my headphone plug - loose, or what.
the left sound is so soft compared to the right sound
i have to constantly adjust my headphone/speaker plug

how do i solve this?
*
Have you tried with different earphones/headphones ? Also, try cleaning the port using cotton bud.

i did. same.

use wet cotton bud or dry?

Dry of course.

One more thing, you can check in System Preferences > Sound > Output > Make sure the Balance slider is in the middle.

Hi there. Some help or experience on the following issue would be appreciated.

Background: I just bought a new MBA Charger in April, and serviced my MBA in January. I'm using a late-2012 MBA 13'.

Problem: Not charging. Connects sometimes green light, sometimes orange. Says not charging. Or if 'charging' then 15+ hours to full - but when you remove the charger, % drops by 1-2% every time. When I hold down the option key and clik battery, it says condition: normal (liesssss).

Tried: 1) Resetting SMC / 2) Using a different charger and different plug point (both working on the MBP so not charger problem) / 3) Cleaning charger port.

Image 1: Estimated battery health. Laptop age: 2 years.

Image 2: 33% with 15+ hours to full battery.

Image 3: 32% after removing and instantenously reattaching charger. Shows not charging.

I had an OS issue in January, and I'm so super broke that I'm afraid this is going to cost me a lot to fix. Does it still fall under Apple's coverage because this is the third time I'm going to send it back to them? Is the unit defective?
*
Can you charge it when it is turned off ? Anyway, I suspect that this is hardware problem, like DC-in Board, etc.

Do you have AppleCare ?

No. Hardware? Oh my gosh that's going to be astronomical isn't it?
*
Yup, it can be depending on the problem. You can send your MBA to Apple and they will quote the price for you, if it is very costly maybe you can seek third-party services ?
