I have subscribed to Wimax since last August with a speed of 1.2Mbps and monthly subscribtion of RM99. Initial months i enjoyed a constant speed of 1 to 1.2Mbps but the honeymoon periods suddnly were cut short when i started to experience slower download speed but stil manageable at 700 to 800kbps. I have made complaints to their technical teams and their respond were faily good by calling you and asking about the speed and sending their runner to yr hse & check on your modem as if the modem position was incorrect. These happened ocassionally but recently it has got worsened and i have recorded the speed using the Speedometer Test and sent to them. The speed was rediculous at below 200kbps. The answer i got frm them was the Station was under maintenance. I know they have a threshold of 20Gb per mth is impossible for me to hit that level considering i only used during weekends .Now the speed looked to remain forever and consistent call to them also bear no fruits. I have regretted in signing up and now i hav to spend more time making complaints than surfing videos!!
The speed and service really sucks , please do not sign up if you are not sure of their set-ups as they may not be ready in their basics infra works.

I never supported P1 anyway due to their 20gb fair usage policy

bro ts, u're problem same as mine right now,after 3months subcription, the line getting worse,,now youtube have to buffer...what's the point if it same like streamyx or i have to said NOW streamyx better then P1 Wimax...i've already called them(P1 Technical) but their phone always busy..."plz leave a message ' and so on

somemore everymonth i didn't over use the 20GB,,or is it like (in my thinking) when ever ur account over use 20GB , P1 system automatic 'make' ur line cut down to 700 or 200kpbs and it will NEVER reset the 20GB limit use...i donno lar , that's my thinking

anyway me kinda abit regret after using P! Wimax right now

Bro, your situation same as mine. I totally agreed what you had said here.
I'm a subscriber on August too, which the month they firstly launched. Now i'm serious just waiting to terminated it. Every month, I felt like doesn't wanted to pay my bill, I really paid it with unwilling and unhappily. I regretted yet luckily i registered for 12months. If 24months i going to kill myself with the frustrated slow connection i facing right now with P1W1MAX. Their CS was totally useless and sucks to the core. CS assistants can't really solve your problem, and you felt like wasting money to call them and wait for the long queue.

My place inside the coverage area, My modem status can be say good, RSSI = -51 CINR = 28dB. I don't know why i still getting so slow connection. Last time it was so awesome to use P1W1MAX to stream videos with superb speed and this is how attracted me. But now, rather worst. International link connection i stuck in the range of 200-400kbps. Local server and P1 speedtest 800Kbps+ ONLY.

I do know some of the users were very happy with it now (I felt like this was how i firstly subscribed with it and so happy with the speed). But from the friends i knew which using P1W1MAX quite a long time,all were complaining the same thing. Maybe some users still can enjoy the speed because of their base station still manage to support the load of the users. I bet once, it getting more users, They will fall into the problem we facing right now.
For my advice, Those who wanted to subscribe for P1W1MAX, you guys really need to consider well, and think properly. Now it's not taking about using the service for few months or half year. Once you over the trial period, it's going to be 1 or 2 years yet the monthly price not cheap either. Try to look further development, If they still doesnt have the solution for the overloaded base station which we connected to, I think you better stop thinking about P1W1MAX, because eventually in the future, it will be getting more subscriber in your area too then you will be facing same thing we does now. The things wont same as like last time the cool speed you had earlier. The problem and slow connection will filling up. Just my 2cents.

Can you imagine the time now, i still get this kind of speed. I'm under 1.2Mbps, and this is how their BEST EFFORT speed now. This is the speed you will get when the bad things come. It's far more worst than other ISP. Sometimes i also felt tired to talk about bad stuff on P1W1MAX, but i just don't hope future customer will fall into what we faced right now. I felt i wanted to step into their HQ and throw the modem to them. Every month i giving this kind of amount but the connection was so uncertain. Amount keep the same RM99 but connection? Doesn't provide what they advertised. LOL . If you don't believe how bad it's, I really welcome or offer you guys come over my place and test it out as much you like and see yourself using your true eyes.

today my both connection (Streamyx & P1) get back to normal... hoooolaaaa!~

p1 20Gb fair usage is 20Gbits or 20 Gbytes?
as if is measured in bits then the actual files u will download is around 2.2Gbytes only..

i am getting an average speed of above 2Mbits/s after subscribed for about a week. i found that it's very much depends on your luck, some of my friends are getting above 6M, average 3-4Mbits/s consistently

from what i can observed is the bandwidth resources in a base station is not evenly distributed to every subscribers.
if you surrounded by heavy download user, you will never be getting above 2Mbits/s
i wonder if there is anyway p1 can evenly distribute the bandwidth for every user?

What's the speed from speed.p1.com.my?

I found that recently the speed from speed.p1.com.my is better than from speedtest.net. However, the speed is still within the acceptable range of ~1Mbps DL. It marks the 2nd months for me now.

Those that not getting good speed, mind to share your location? What is the signal quality as read from the device page? Is the problem only occur during night time or 24/7?

Ranting but not sharing important information doesn't help other users to make decision.

Minimum cost for dedicated 1mbps international connectivity would be close to rm1000/month from any ISP in Malaysia.

I getting high frequency DC at USJ21. I only use for surfing web and email. Any body in USJ21 having the same problem?

You all purchase the normal plan. I purchase the expansive plan RM149/month. The package that i purchase is 10MBPS. The first month using P1 is very perfect until I can download more than 1MB/Sec.

After 1 month story, P1 Like Hell until Today!!!.

My first case:
P1 can't surf certain website (5/10 website cant work). I call P1 CareLine 2-3 times per day. I call them more than 3 weeks. Finally I receive a message from P1.



P1 message is not real. They say have been solve the problem but still unable to surf the website.

I continue to call P1 CareLine everyday. After 1 weeks, they fix the problem.



2 days after solving my 1 problem, I report another problem.

2nd case:
The connection is very slow. My download speed is 1Mb/s drop down until 50kb/s.

I still calling P1 everyday to solve my problem more than 2 weeks. Until Now, haven't solve my problem.

in my area its quite fast.

if wiggy 800kbps, can get full spped for dl, 1.XX mb/s, for the upload it just 0.52 mb/s. tested with speedtest.net

no hiccup also when opening lyn homepage. took about 2-3 seconds to fully display it. i wonder how faster the speed can go if using 10mbps plan?

FYI, the p1 station is about 300-500 meters from where i stay. and i'm at 3rd floor. the station is about 100 meters high. it was told by the p1 worker when i ask where the station is. so..i guess, maybe if u r closer to p1 station, the signal will be better. thus the dl/up spped could be better.

yeah...don't sign up P1..u will enjoy it within 3 month only...after that damn slow...only few people still get fast speed...other gone...happen to me also...damn...

LOL I my Maybank2u TAC request came before the page loaded!... Regret big time.

Wow... i nearly terminate my Maxis for P1 and now I see this thread and really have to reconsider for Streamyx!

Seem like the advertisement "POTONG" is another joke of the month. Come to think about it, getting RM160 rebate when switch to P1 is a bad idea after all... If they are so good, I guess they don't have to rebate at all and maybe no need to advertise too...

So, I think I better go TM tomorrow for Streamyx! How I wish our govt could allow 10Mbps like other country.

Just terminated p1 wimax. Was using it for the past 1 year( since launch ). First 4 or 5 months, speed was good. After that, speed downgraded monthly. Last few months, speed was ok from like 4am to 10am in the morning, can get max speed while surfing/downloading/streaming videos. At other times, everything is slow, downloads, even loading lowyat.net takes forever. Called up their tech support and was told that the area im in has alot of subscribers and i need to position my modem at the opposite direction to get connected to another base station which is less congested. Good suggestion, with the only problem being, i live in a condo. Moving the modem to face the opposite direction is not possible. At least with streamyx, web page loads at normal speed most of the time, which makes it much better than P1. If an area is congested with alot of subscribers, my problem that i cant place the modem to face another direction or P1s problem that they cant cater to the number of users with acceptable service at that location ?

The most shitty ISP ever on earth......I jus called up them,their bloody so called technical service consultant dosent answer my question and keep putting me on hold without asking my consent.each time last for 8 mins at lest

My problem was,my P1 could not use for the past 3 days, and I would like to have them rectified it and if so compensate me for the 3 days losses. Even though their service have never been satisfactory but i can still bear with it (2 to 3 lines signal since I subscribed to 9/2009,),but totally cut off this time...it is way too much ! Eventually it dint help much,the call lasted for 40 mins and with 20 mins listening to their "lovely P1 jingle"....Sweat

when I refer to termination process,the fellow told me you have penalty charge and max is RM999 subject to' the way you talk to them' when you go to their P1 main building at jln 222... OMG

doesn't a customer deserve a better internet service and a professional manner of advising customer...i end the call by telling him,you are helpful in providing me the termination process,the rest None !!!!

I come here to share is,becos I can bear for no more....
