I'm facing skipping problem... Avi, Mkv, Rmvb mostly...
its like I just played the movie at 5min, then it jump to end of the movie =.=//

to play back my previous spot, I've to 'go to' then press O, O & O...
The worst case I have to do 5~10 times for a 2 hours movie play, very annoying!!! mad.gif

I do change my wifi channel from 11 to 1 instead of use the default 6...
never try cable connection... PC quite far from living room...

Anyone suffer the same thing??

FINALLY U CAN DUMP YOUR SUPER SUCKS TVERSITY... AND PLAY *.mkv FILES STREAMED TO YOUR PLAYSTATION 3 WITH PS3 MEDIA SERVER (NOW SUPPORTS 720P & 1080P WITH 7.1ch + SUBTITLE)

Guide to streaming videos with subtitle on PS3 with Java PS3 Media Server!

Alright guys, PS3 Media Server is a new program so much easier to set up than TVersity. It’s Java based, works for Windows or Linux and capable of transcoding any HD content to your PS3 with subtitles on the fly.

Check out the features here.

Download it here.
Latest version v1.10.5.

Playing the video files (some extracted from Readme)

- Install PS3 Media Server.

- Get and install AVISynth 2.5.7 from here.  (2.5.8 has issues)

- Install codec pack, I recommend  K-Lite Codec Pack.

- Set up the FFDShow Audio Decoder Config > Mixer to your preference, or this one 5.1 (3/0/2 LFE)

- Set “Autoload VSFilter” to Yes in Haali Splitter settings. *if necessary*

- Configure Haali Splitter (audio/subtitles language priorities) *if necessary*

- You can have optional codecs i.e. CoreAVC, Quicktime Alternative and Real Alternative.

Fine Tuning PS3 Media Server

Common transcode settings:

- UPDATE: v1.10.5 has improved Mencoder settings especially with subtitles, so no need to play with AviSynth priorities anymore.

- There’s nothing much to tweak for this program as it runs perfectly fine after install.

- Go to Navigation/Share settings and add the folder you want your video files played.

- Download “VSFilter.dll” here. Place it inside Avisynth’s plugin folder found in “Program Files/Avisynth 2.5/plugin”.

- Go to Transcoding Settings to change your Video quality, I use Good Quality and everything plays without stuttering.

*- Change “Avisynth/Mencoder” to 1st priority by clicking the Up/Down arrow on the bottom.*

If your PS3 detects the Media Server, everything should play up nicely!

You can have .avi files with .ass files in the same folder with same name and they will detect just fine. It’s a much better alternative to TVersity!

Edit: I tried using the subtitle file (*.srt) with AVI files and it worked great too (provided both files have the same name)

What is the pc minimum requirement to play 1080p .mkv file? When I run the video keeps on stuttering. My laptop specs are not powerful at all.

Core2duo. win7. 2.1Ghz

Is it because of this specs are so low?

Hello guys,

Ive been using this for about a year already, but I still don't know how to embed subtitles in it haha...

I think last time I tried, it says subtitles files not found.

Was referring to .srt sub.

Any helps? Thanks in advance.

have u tried renaming the .sub or .srt to one same name?

like e.g
movie name.avi
movie name.srt

or

movie name.mkv
movie name.sub

Anyone have workaround on "cinavia" issue?
Most of the movies downloaded sure encounter this especially those .mkv, .avi, etc.
