Installed this yesterday and it works like a charm, no stuttering whatsoever and quality is really good

Hi guys,

I just install the PS3 media server into my home server.

Unfortunately it can't detect my PS3 but from my server I can PING my PS3.

Is there anything I need to configure? Do I need to update the firmware of PS3 to the latest to get it work? HELP!

How to make the media server to be able to see Japanese or Chinese character? All I only see is "boxes" in the screen

anybody got "cinavia" problem while playing .mkv movie on ps3?
today is my 1st time i got the error code 3 message:

“Audio outputs temporarily muted. Do not adjust the playback volume. The content being played is protected by Cinavia™
and is not authorized for playback on this device. For more information, see http://www.cinavia.com. Message Code 3.”

it happened after 15-20mins of playing time & totally left no sound but the movie still playing with that error message appeared on the screen. so now ps3 firmware is detecting what video we're playing on the ps3 with analyze the sound out of it? isn't it break violation of user privacy or something?

yup.only for english movies atm.lucky they didnt do it on anime....if they do mean i'm doomed!!!

i just curious why it detected battle los angeles only on my playlist so far.
i played countless of other movie titles & none of them got the cinavia problem like that.

sony pictures only i think bcoz my Battle:LA & Green Hornet got it.still didnt try with The Takers & Mechanic yet.

should i used wired or wireless for streaming media? thanks...if wired, how is the setup?

you can youtube the tutorial.for wired u need a ethernet cable to connect your PS3 to PC/Laptop

i think because of my laptop is old school (cannot even play HD movies with it otherwise it would hang), this thing does'nt work very well for me. I can watch anime or low quality movie using this,but not HD movies,confirm hang.

HD movies need a faster computer.....

installed v1.25 ytd and cant detect my ps3.using firmware 3.66


Tversity and windows media sharing turn up no problem

tried Nero Mediahome 4 as well, can;t show up.i found out that whenever the software detect this ip address 192.168.1.2, they cant show up

try update ur java on pc and see... It works well on my fat ps3 3.66, juz i've problem with
1) .ass mkv subtitle didn't show up (i did put same name and inside the same folder)

2) avisync cant play movie(showing file corrupted error)

3)And i use only mencoder but 1 of my mkv no audio

Try to stream 1080p via wireless. However, my quad cores processors all running at the max 100%...

anyone has problem recently when install this ps3 media server? i dl and then install and follow all the steps mention above. but my renderer failed to connect??

PMS works great for my PS3. worked great for HD mkv files as well. although some are laggy at times. just need some tweaking at the video quality settings.

anyone can guide me on this? i installed this to my laptop and connect it to my ps3 using network cable. when i search for media server in my ps3 it says ethernet cable not connected. they are not the same thing? sorry if it's a noob question
