i just bought a creative ep630 which came in an oem packaging. and i've googled around about the differences between the ori and the fake ones, and it seems mine has some characteristics of the ori and fake as well.
any other ep630 users out there who would be kind enough to post pics of the ep630 from different angles? i mean, the buds, the driver, the jack, etc. and maybe where did u buy it from. i got mine from lyn. so dunno if ori or not, but so far it sounds great. thanks a lot guys!

You should be able to differentiate it by the SQ of the IEM. Those fake one can't produce gd sound. Appearance wise Here is some good example.

Well, as long as you are happy with the sound, don't bother if it's genuine. Besides, you can't ask for a refund, can you?

afaik, the ep630 is not really plagued by the fake products.
instead, the notorious sony ericsson hpm-70 is the most infected product.

but as kelvinyam said, as long as you happy with the sound, no problem.
once i got a high-quality fake hpm-70, sounds better than the original. but cable easily spoil.

yeah, i already checked that site. mine looks exactly the same as original. the driver grill looks ori, the buds look ori, etc. only thing is that when i push the bud deeper into my ear, it makes a scrunchin/popping sound, like they say a fake one would. so now pretty confused...

even if i ask for refund, i cannot afford the ep630 selling more than rm100++... hehe. i got mine for 55 only including postage. so even if not ori, at least it's worth the price i guess...

now that's something i hope is true! if fake one is better than ori, the world would be perfect!

but the cost of the fake one is same as the original one. since i told u, its a high quality fake item. no1 quality. but the cable easily spoil. even my friend, who own a ori hpm-70 at first laughed me for buying fake item, after i let him listen, he said, how come this fake could pawn my ori one. i loled

hmm... i heard about a fake bose earphone manufacturer who uses the exact same component as bose, but selling the earphones for a very cheap price... in garage sales if not mistaken.. maybe will get that later kot.. hehe. hmm, fake items do have their own grades and qualities. i have a fake omega and montblanc watch, and it looks 100% like the original. a bit more expensive though, compared to the cheap ones which u can tell it's a fake straight away. but still damn cheap compared to ori stuff, hehe. a watch is just a watch after all. anyway, back to earphones. anyone bought an ep630 in oem packaging but sq like ori?

I bought the OEM and ORI one as well.

I tested both of them out, and definately ORI one sound better by a lot! No doubt the bass is good but the treble for OEM one is very high and lack of mids. I ended up sold the OEM one and keep the ORI and using it happily with N82

Mine? From bulk physically much alike but SQ got a lot of difference

the oem one selling for rm55 is it? i thought they were selling the original oem since it's supposed to be oem for dell notebooks.. anyway, i didnt buy from bulk, so chances that my earphone is ori are still there. hopefully.. hehe. the ori one is selling more than double the price of oem, i really cant afford one.... huhu..

ep630 is good enough for ppl who dont mind SQ.

If want better sound then go for mylar.

i do mind sq, a lot, since i love high quality oldies... but my wallet wont let me buy anything more than rm50... huhu... initally was aiming for the ksc75 and mylar bijou, but then cannot afford since i have to save up cos my gf birthday is coming... huhu.. anyway, i think the sq of my ep630 is totally worth the price.. thanks guys!

Would advice you hold the horse first, I just sent one unit of Soundmagic PL11 to bro ClieOS for review, since he did a rating for Creative EP630 in his 18 IEM review thread, so you might compare between both PL11 and EP630, since they are similiar priced and bass oriented

cool, i'll look at the thread later! thanks! but the pl11 is bass oriented.. im focusing on vocals and clarity more.. i bought the ep630 not for the bass, but it's the best iem for that price i can get.. huhu.. but satisfied with it. i just need to change my equalizer to vocal and increase the treble, and everything's fine.. not the best, but a good earphone
