Hi all, has anyone been able to extend warranty on their BENQ? I have benq s41, failed firs ttime just got back few days, i think they change bios to 1.19 (which is unlisted on site) i believe fan runs more (although not noticable - eg. not super noisy)
after 1yr3month it fail

I really want to extend my warranty. Not sure if allow, if not allowed but anybody has argue their way through please let me know. I still have 7months+ original warranty left but still love this system and don't want to part it. I want to support benQ for great machine but only if they allow me to buy extra warranty

first off thanks for the fast reply astria! I've been very nervous waiting for one hehe.
Do you think the new revision fixed this? how do we know we have new one? When i send my laptop for repair, it took benq 1month1week to send new MB (they say due to manufacturer under pressure so take long) so i think it should be new right?

Does GPU-z tell you anything? it only say release date may 09, 2007

After getting this laptop back I shows how much more i appreciate it. so much cooler than desktop and other netbook/portables

yeah i've thought of that while it happened. Even after repair the technician recommend me to sell too if i cant get extended warranty. But when i get it back and think, this is my first laptop and been very happy.

Cheap stylish gaming system and very sturdy (for the price or to me anyway )

I also like benQ s57 but so expensive. Unless it drop quickly in next 2 months i will have to sell mine and probably buy MSI (I do want to support BenQ but..

Do they still make Benq s42? Here in Aus I hear lots people complain out of stock and no more making

Thats even better! I meant you guys have it at a much cheaper price than here in aus. It was much cheaper than it is now in aus mid last year but I think its a fading model and almost out of stock they raise price.

has the price of benq s57 drop much since first came out for you? your new revised s42, with better specs came at higher price too?
