Hi, I'm new here and one lousy friend of mine brought me here just to exploit my graphic card....

Since I'm seeing this, I have to disagree with this thread. I'm an owner of a dell vostro 1510 with a Nvidia 8400m gs. I bought it a 5 months ago and everything is still fine regardless of whatever things that it was stated here. i know the problem does exist but it's only like 10th in a million if u are me. here is a post that I've made about my laptop about a couple of weeks ago. My blog

And even after overclocking it, it still runs fine in a warm room ( I live in a apartment without any air-cond) so, this is all I have to say for now.

most of these laptops will fail at around 1.5 - 2 year, some even within the warranty, that means under 1 year, under what ever circumstances, even when you're just typing it will fail. for why it fail, you can read here, here and here.

it more like every laptop with these gpu, i believe that is why the 3 big oems is giving an limited extended warranty to laptops that were affected by these gpu. dell and apple is giving this warranty to all laptops that have these gpu, but not hp. hp will only gives this warranty to selected models, even though the laptop have the same gpu, same symptom ( so far only amd laptops are covered by hp).
