high-ended normally will dun hv this prob, coz thy can boots in OS with lower vCORE compare to cheapo MB where it need more vCORE to boots in OS..

here what i'm did

you can't expect the overclock stable all the time, this is the meaning of overclocking,
what u need to do



  • Go download HyperPi.


  • Set the vcore u want, and set the higher raw clock that u think ur proc can handle with the vcore.


  • i assume u know the capability of your ram.


  • Run hyperPi 1M for quick test, if the system can't calculate well, then u need to lower down the HTT by 1.


  • Boot again until u get it to pass 1M, next, run 32M until pass.


  • Save the setting.


  • Go download 3D mark. any version that u think ur graphic can do. I usually did this to test for the whole stable system.


  • Once got it stable without BSOD, then try to run underclock for few days, and oc it back to previous setting.


  • then go to bios, up again the HTT +1, then test. then repeat the process until u got the max.



this is only for quick oc, but need time, i dont like to prime and orthos so long, i prefer to feel it, oc, underclock, oc and up HTT and test.

wow.. this is nice.. i vote with this test, for me its enuf for me if pass 32M(hyperPI) + 3DMark06 test nod.gif (it is enuf for daily use/gaming) thumbup.gif

but for benching need prime stable.. laugh.gif

so if u is the 1 who OC for better performance/gaming only, thn i would say sure u will stop OC once u get the performance u want it..

but for a benching OCer, thy will nvr stop, thy will grow day by day until bcome a EXTREME OCer, ply with DIce/LN2 even LHe brows.gif
