to be fair to ami bios, their bios can be as rich as award (sometimes i think they're richer infact), but boards (those i've tested like asus s939 cf baord & biostar 790gx) w ami bios seem to be buggy at times. smile.gif

for x3 720 b.e w/ 3 cores i forgot ledi whether i used it or not (coz my all aod ss blocked by memset) but for 7750 b.e acc is a must for higher clock. smile.gif

u need special bios to unlock d xtra cache. 0904 batches of X3 720 have highest chances havin a prime stable 4th core, but again it depends on mobo (2ndary factor) + luck (primary factor - havin a primable 4th core). smile.gif

for eg, i managed to get my ex X3 720 prime stable on biostar 790gx @ 3.3GHz w 4 cores but on dfi 790fxb, i just can't get it prime stable (blend test) no matter what i do. clock wise, it's a mammoth task to get a biostar to do what a dfi can do, ask bro fuzore he'll tell u it's hard to push for higher clock if u don't have a dfi board. tongue.gif

w 3 cores, i managed to brin d x3 to 3.7GHz prime stable on 790fxb, i didn't have much time to test d biostar 790gx board but i'm pretty sure w d noobish skill i have for sure i can't hit d same clock on biostar, even w 3 cores only... nod.gif

dfi jr 790gx is d best bet if x3 720 comes in mind, prime stable + very2 gud performance. thumbup.gif

But the situation here is the data fetch is depend on data hit.

1. If data hit at L1, then it will not proceed to L2.
2. If no hit at L1 @ hit at L2, it will not proceed to L3.
3. If no hit at L1 & L2 @ hit at L3, it will not proceed to RAM.

Phenom II will have these 3 procedures while Athlon II will directly proceed to RAM after L2.
