QUOTE(yjt1718 @ Oct 10 2020, 09:26 AM) Just want to share my personal experience here with the job seekers who are keen to know more about Capital Dynamics since I have not seen any new feedback on the company. GOOD LUCK ... you gonna need more than that.I got to know Capital Dynamics through a senior who has been working for Capital Dynamics for more than 10 years. She joined as a fresh grad. Over the years, she has been given a lot of career opportunities and exposures, which is the part that really excites me! I went for an interview recently. Was actually surprised that they called me for interview very fast, like within a day or two after I applied, I expected it to be like at least few weeks, like the other companies. In fact, Capital Dynamics is one of the very few companies in the financial industry that is still hiring. To my greater surprise, Mr Tan Teng Boo actually joined the interview session and he was really friendly and approachable. He shared some insightful advice on the career prospect with company and the training opportunities that the company is willing give to those who are committed about achieving a success, including a fresh grad, like me! Well, he was upfront about a few unique policies that the company has. Since I saw a lot of discussions above on the policies, I shall share them here with everyone: 1) no personal mobile phone policy, which to me it makes sense given the nature of the business which is highly regulated, they need to ensure no leakage of sensitive information which may lead to serious impact like licence revocation, monetary penalty by the regulator, jail term etc. As long as they still allow employees to use company phone to communicate with family and friends at any time, that is fine for me; 2) Asian name policy, which is thought provoking, I realised that I am actually still mentally colonised by the Westerners, I gave an English name to myself to make it convenient for my non-Asian friends to remember and pronounce, I never thought of insisting to teach them how to pronounce my Asian name properly. I do agree with the CEO that we have to respect ourselves, our root before others would do the same to us; 3) nap policy, this is interesting, you can actually take naps in the office any time during the office hour; 4) casual dress code, to my very surprise, for a financial company to have such dress code (I see some of the employees wearing jeans, slippers, shorts when I was there for interview, I thought they have a special function!). The only thing that made me a bit hesitant is that they do work on Saturdays (half day). The CEO shared their vision of becoming a great global company and their ambition to be a voice of Asia. I do understand that this industry is highly competitive and I have heard a lot from my seniors and friends who work in the industry about the common long hours and extra effort in order to stay competitive. I guess as a fresh grad, what I need most at this stage is a good training ground so I can catapult in my career. So I will give it a try! Wish me luck |

QUOTE(yjt1718 @ Oct 20 2020, 07:20 AM) I noticed one funny trend here - anyone who is on the side of ttb or Capital Dynamics will be deemed as tb in disguise or noob. Seems like there is a syndicate here. Hmm.. Maybe this is the wrong forum to find out or share about Capital Dynamics, but more of a group of naysayers? Sour grapes? Losers? When one person say ttb or cd no good - that person could be wrong. When two person say ttb or cd no good - two person could be wrong. When three person say ttb or cd no good - three person could be wrong. 4 person 5 person When a lot of peeps say ttb or cb no good, only you say it's good ... u must be right. The rest is sour grape and loser ... wuakakakakakaka Sekolah tinggi tinggi masih bodo rupanya. |

QUOTE(yjt1718 @ Oct 20 2020, 11:45 PM) Wah, you guys must be really free, can post on forum even during office hours. No wonder you are no longer with Capital Dynamics. Answer this la, open minded konon.I would not want to waste time arguing with losers who would only criticise others at the back. For those of you who wish to know more about my personal experience with Capital Dynamics, feel free to pm me. I am more than happy to share. If you are open-minded, best is to come and find out about Capital Dynamics yourselves. At least seek clarification from the interviewers, like I did. After all, you have nothing to lose. This is not the right forum to find out about a company, when the commentors consist mostly of the naysayers, and mostly have nothing better to do except spreading negative and biased views. QUOTE(*smartcandy* @ Nov 11 2020, 10:48 AM) Hi. I recently applied for an internship with Capital Dynamics after I got to know about the company from my university. They called me for interview within a day or two after I submitted my application, it was my first interview. I received their offer a few days later. What shocked me was they offered me a monthly stipend of RM3k, which was really out of the norm for an intern. I was not sure if it was a scam. I searched on the internet and found negative reviews about the company. I was really frightened and worried that it would be a horrible working environment and I may have to work very long hours or OT every day. In the end, I rejected their offer. Few weeks later, I was informed by my university coordinator that Capital Dynamics would like to have a video call with me and my coordinators to clarify on the matter. I was surprised to see the CEO in the video call, together with his managers. He explained to me and my coordinators the reason why the company offered me such a high stipend, as he thinks that my qualification is already equivalent to a fresh graduate as I have completed all my subjects, which was why he thinks that I deserve a fresh grad pay even though I only applied for an internship. The company was being very ethical and did not want to exploit me as an intern. I feel very bad and regretted for not seeking further clarifications from the company earlier and for believing in the negative reviews in the forums, which turned out to be false and biased. I know students and applicants refer to the forums for reviews of the companies. Hence, I am sharing my personal experience here hoping that it would be a good reference for those of you who wish to join Capital Dynamics, and be wiser when you refer to the reviews from the forums. Wuaa You register just to post this ah ? Cut and paste pun agak agak la kawan. Paragraph ade tau ... paragraph. |

QUOTE(shadesofong @ Nov 19 2020, 06:59 PM) I worked for 6 companies over 8 years. For nearly 9 years after that, I worked in the best company, rising from a junior executive to senior management. This was when I thankfully joined Capital Dynamics. Hey, what have I been missing ...In all my 9 years, I was trained intensively and extensively by the company. I was given opportunities that I never knew existed. There were very motivating. The rewards and benefits at Capital Dynamics were very generous and trust me, they were very unique as well. Not only is there no office politics, Capital Dynamics does not believe in and does not practise OT. Not a single staff is asked to do OT. The culture in CD is very results-based. If you can produce the results by the agreed deadline, you are free to go whenever. What OT? You manage yourself responsibly. If you have to stay back after office hours to finish your work on time, shouldn’t you? The culture in CD is also very caring. Capital Dynamics is under the “Essential Services” category. It has to stay open at all times, just like Bursa Malaysia. In order that its staff stay safe and still meet the legal obligations under Essential Services, staff are provided breakfast and lunch every day all paid for the company. They can also choose various working times to avoid congested public transport or jams. Wow, these are so much better than some of the larger companies. The culture at Capital Dynamics is very empowering for all staff – no micromanaging for sure (for the less experienced ones, do not confused between regulatory compliance with micromanaging). For example, the staff can wear whatever they find suitable. They can nap any time for whatever length of time they choose to. In the pantry, they can play ping-pong, watch tv or play the piano – anytime the staff chooses to. Despite his huge success, the CEO of CD is very humble, compassionate, extremely generous and an unusually sincere person. Wise, funny, open-minded, TTB is actually a patient teacher to his staff rather than a CEO of a company. Is he perfect? No, he is human after all, but after 9 long and rewarding years in Capital Dynamics, I find him to be a wonderful human being. Unlike my previous bosses, TTB respects all his staff. Even though he is a very senior CEO, he is willing to listen to our opinions and ideas. Why did I leave? The irony for TTB and Capital Dynamics is that they nurtured me so bloody well that the larger and richer financial institutions headhunted me like a gem. But my million thanks to TTB and Capital Dynamics for the best 9 years. Why I am posting this in this LowYat forum? I see few positive comments about TTB and Capital Dynamics in LowYat. This is not the true situation and unfair to them. After nearly 9 years, I can safely say I know TTB and Capital Dynamics inside out and is therefore in an excellent position to portray the true picture. For those who want to genuinely know more, give me either your email or phone contact. Hi dupe ... another one eh. Wow, you create an account just to post this ? again ? You make it sound like its one of the Fortune 500 company. Correction, better than Fortune 500 company as they surely have some bad in those company. On top of that, everything is good and NOTHING's bad Well, if CD is not a Fortune 500 company, the one who head hunt you from there must be one. No one in the right state on mind will leave such aGOOD company for anything less ... right ? Anyway, to each his own and everyone has the right to freedom of opinion and expression ... mine included. |
