im having this problem with parallels 5 for mac.

i have install ver 4 and upgraded it to 5 free, and i tried installing win xp but it cant load/detect my xp cd, it showed failed to boot from disc... sad.gif

i have burnt several cds and tried loading it from various pc and it works perfectly but it cant detect in parallels... :star:

what is the problem with it? anyone can assist me on this issue? notworthy.gif

or any recommendation on which OS should i go? smile.gif

**off-topic issue: how to create an .iso file? what software (freeware) to use? sweat.gif

actually its not off topic issue...i wanted to suggest u to install using .iso as well tongue.gif

no need to download anything, juz launch Disk Utility. put in the XP CD, go to File > New > Disk Image from (the XP cd). save it somewhere. then open parallels and direct it to install from the ISO u created

i have installed parallels 5.0 in my machine as well as creating an image file (.dmg to be more specific) for win XP...

when i followed the wizard, it cant boot from disc, neither do image files... it give the error: failed to boot...

so, i dont know whats wrong with it... and how can i solve em' sad.gif
