Am using MBA (Mid 2011 model with 4GB ram) with Parallel 7 with Windows 7 Professional.

Slightly noticeable lag. I only use Windows 7 for its Internet Explorer since Java runs better in Windows.

I believe the performance will be improved with the new MBA which comes with an option of 8GB ram.

My compressed Win 7 professional is around 10.3GB. Mine is a 128GB model. Just a clean install with AVG.
