PD7 runs great in Lion. The full screen mode is awesome too. To make windows guest runs fast, get at least 8GB of RAM for your laptop and assign 4GB the machine. I run it on my OCZ SSD and it boots really fast. Can play heavy games too in it like Hot Pursuit and Assassin Creed because you can assign up to 1GB of video RAM for the machine.

Is it really okay to run VM on a SSD as the read/write IO is relatively heavy? Will it degrade its lifespan faster? I plan to run VM on it too.

As the name implies, it's just a virtual machine. So you can turn it on whenever you need to. I'm using the base MBP equipped with 8GB and I would say it is sufficient to run VM and some application at the same time.

Other sifus might have better opinion on this one.
