Hey guys, so I just got my macbook pro yesterday. Problem is when I wanna load windows from my pen drive into it using BootCamp, everything went smoothly, bootcamp downloaded some things and i selected 50GB partition for Windows. My macbook restarted and it says no bootable device found, please insert something something and press and key. How do I solve this? Help please.
Ps : Im not asking how to boot up OSX by holding down the option key. I wanna boot up Windows using BootCamp.

QUOTE(wiraone @ May 18 2013, 12:33 PM) You might not have all the drivers installed, didn't remember how I did mine, but do search for bootcamp drivers and install it. My bootcamp is version 5.0.2. What drivers do I need? Isn't that the latest already?

QUOTE(wiraone @ May 18 2013, 03:40 PM) You need to install the bootcamp windows driver within windows after the installation. Read the instruction guide. Shld be the step no 4 in the following guide: http://manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/boot_c...-setup_10.8.pdfThank you very much! Settled my problem. Just click into the BootCamp folder and run the setup.exe. All the drivers in there. Done! Thanks! By the way if my windows get virus will my OS be affected? By right no, right? Do I need antivirus for my windows in this case? I'll only be using it for like 20% of the time only FYI.

QUOTE(BRY7 @ May 18 2013, 08:13 PM) Virus on Windows will not effect Mac as its not recognised on Mac. if you've been running Antivirus on Windows all the time, it doesnt make much difference in your current situation. you will still need it I see. Maybe I'll just allow virus to be on my windows side since I'm not using it for banking or anything important. Haha. Saves me alot of cash! Cheapskate here sorry.

Hey guys, I'd like to know why my trackpad isn't working in windows mode. Okay not the whole trackpad but normally we touch to 'click' once, right? Mine wouldn't. Have to use mouse or click the trackpad. Why ah?

QUOTE(victorian @ May 18 2013, 11:42 PM) Go to your control panel and search for bootcamp. There's a bootcamp manager where you can manage all the settings like mouse click, secondary click etc Done, thank you very much!

QUOTE(ay@m @ May 19 2013, 10:33 AM) Hi, Can you explain a bit in details pls? Do you make your external hdd bootable and you install windows from external hdd instead of usb drive? Thank youm I have intention to install windows as well on a mac pc... Hi no need. Just make sure its an external HDD. No need to make it bootable or anyhting. Just dont use those conventional 4/8/16GB small sized pendrives. A message will appear something no bootable device something press any key. Use the external HDD. Dont hesitate to ask any questions here.

QUOTE(even_steven @ May 19 2013, 11:50 AM) Quite complicated. Luckily I decided not to use bootcamp and just use virtualbox instead. But a good informational thread. I'll be sure to refer to this if I want to use bootcamp . Quite easy IF you have a person to help you / give you step-by-step guidance. Like me before this I went through hours and hours of frustration trying to google for answers and cant find them. But now that I've successfully done it I find it so easy.

QUOTE(even_steven @ May 19 2013, 12:39 PM) I agree. Not that hard but need guidance. Without it you'll be lost. Yup. Trust me, trying it out yourself without even knowing how OS works is hella difficult. By the way can we like partition more space for windows now? Like after I've installed? I set 40GB but the windows itself took up 20. Wanna change it to 50/60. Can I do it without reinstalling?

QUOTE(sI Taufu @ May 19 2013, 11:45 PM) yup, if you no need those stuff in D drive anymore (assume your HDD got C and D partition). You need to wipe out D drive from disk management, than only you may expand C drive. Nope. Only 1 partition. Nevermind then. If I have to reformat then.. I think I'll just leave it.
