1. 10kg extra just because you are going there to study, no they would not give you.
2. You can change to Korean Won at the money changer @ the Incheon airport / major money changers @ the banks. However our money is pretty much useless in town. If you carry USD, GBP or even JPY, it is still tradable in town.

Hi all. I've got a question regarding online booking. So I've made the payment and received itinerary receipt email. However, when i try to do web check-in using E-TICKET NUMBER method, it kept showing 'We are unable to process your check-in request at this moment'

Any idea why or i can just go to the airport and check in?

Occasionally the system will be down. (Like today in the morning)
I'm not sure what number are you using but you should only take (and always) take note of the PNR information / booking information which consist of 5 characters. (often alphanumeric in nature)

If the system fail many times then pick up the phone and do phone check in. They will ask for the PNR info as well. You could give other info but PNR is the quickest way to go.

I've always wondered about this clause when purchasing an MAS flight ticket:
Has anyone ever been asked to produce this?
*
Yes ... this has happened to me before. Not a biggie but I don't think you need to worry about it so long you carry your credit card around.

i find this requirement a nuisance, the cc companies exercised stringent measures to ensure that all cc users are thoroughly 'screened' and authenticated be4 approvals
why must MAS imposed such measures to the detriment of passengers?
*
MAS is not the only airline to impose this. Lufthansa & Korean Airlines also have this clause in their T&C. Lufthansa and Korean Airlines (talking from personal experience) have executed this T&C when I checked in at the airport.

BTW ... if you are referring to cc companies in Malaysia - Yes, the security measures are fairly stringent but MAS (similar to all airlines) have customers from all over the world. Not all cc providers practice the same stringent approvals as the banks in Malaysia. The risk of fraud remains valid and no such thing as 100% assurance from 0% fraud that despite the security measures.

The T&C exist to protect against fraud from its customers and they can exercise it if they want to. Read : They can exercise it if they want to at any point of time.
You guys are jumping at MAS for no apparent reason. I hope you guys not to be too quick to form a judgement.

Moderator-assuming the existing procedures are to prevent online fraud or ? Would mas or the other airlines be affected by the forgery or fraud?put it simply would mas not have collected the monies from the cc?afterall mas is just a carrier and there's no ground for them to deny the registered party from travelling if the passengers name tally with their official documents and the ticket is already paid for

I think it was introduced during the era where credit card fraud is a big issue.
Hence if you look at SIA FAQ as well as Cathay Pacific FAQ, it did mentioned if the transaction was successful vide "SecureCode" i.e. Master Secure or Visa 3D Secure hence one need not go through the hassle. I sampled JAL and it include such clauses. American Airline website also the same information while there is a possibility American Airline might impose one to key in their Credit Card pin at the check in counter  sweat.gif .

Notwithstanding a probability of human trafficking racket which we might not know off... brows.gif Fake passport, fake card transaction, everything fake all the way.... p.s. just speculating to lighten things up.

Thanks boon
On a lighter note, if he's that deeply opinionated and well experienced (read his posts in other forums) about the subject - start his own airline and make the difference that he is advocating. Being glib on the tongue just wouldn't cut it, would it be ? thumbup.gif

anyone know how frequent MAS will have promotion on air tickets? beginning of month? few months? or any specific festival?

Can't tell. Anyway, you are looking for Osaka tickets right ?
Promotion came back last night night. Although slightly more (RM799 vs RM899) but it is still better than a full price tickets.

so is it better to take Emirates? Because KL-Dubai got 2 meals, Dubai-London another 2 meals.  hmm.gif  hmm.gif

You need to have 4 meals ? People consider the airlines due to timing and cost but never meals.
A lot of airlines fly direct for long haul like MAS with just 2 meals and thousands of people are OK and happy with just 2 meals.

@idunnolol

Appreciate your posts good or bad. But there are ways in which you could express negativity without the use of any profanities.

Allowing such writing styles will only attract more to write in such manner.

1. Luggage allowance is built into your ticket. Please note this total baggage allowance is limited to 2 luggage in total.
2. You do have a smart phone right ? Download the MAS app and do online check in using your PNR. (not all destination applies)

First time flying MAS aren't you ?
