OK, no stupid threads like 360 or ps3 pls helpsss me..or why cant my ps1 play my ps3 game question here. I am aware we have the trusted shop thread, but this thread is to share your con story here, conning or conned

here is mine.

that time, everybody was street fighting 2...i only had NES that time, SF2 was on SNES..so I was helping my aunt in her night market business that time. then there was a dude, my former friend actually, so he met me in the pasar malam, i was busy seeling the ayam goreng that time he asked me why I did that, i said to gather money for snes, to play SF2.then he said why la go all he trouble, he said just give him five bucks (that time 5 bucks a lot of money woo) and any NES catridge that in have, he can help me 'copy' the sf2 into the nes cart. so i, yes,,i was a dumbass that time, gave him 5 bucks and the Duck Hunt cartridge that i had, hoping tomorrow to see the fella in school to collect my cart filled with SNES game to be played on NES.

the next morning, he didnt turn up to school. then the next day after, same story. then i got to know, he moved school. so my damage, 5 bucks, plus a Duck Hunt cartridge and most precious, my self esteem. I was 10 that time.

My con story.. nothing much but I bought some 3DO and PS1 games hoping to play on Saturn, and the the owner said yes it can. Was 13 that time

Bought the original PSX and that bloody shop owner gave me 2 fake controllers....!! Damn!!

Oh and I spent RM100 for each pirated Sega CD game last time knowing it was pirated but the cost of the "Gold" CD-R was high.. from the same shop

my con story almost the same like sniper's only that i let my friend borrow my NES cartridge. He said that he was going to return them back to me in a week or two.

Weeks turned to month...after that he told me he sold it!!! WTF!!!?? He sold it cheap too!! He told me i can go ahead and punch him in the face if i want to...but i just go ahead and broke his bicycle's rims. (i was 13 that time)

After that i went to boarding school and my bro pulak stupidly gave my NES cartridges away. It was my prized ori Rockman 1, 2, 3 until 4 T_T

Couldn't do much..he was still in kindergarten n tot i really know the kid that took them...well after that no more gaming until i was in Uni. My bro also lost my Zelda dual screen game n watch and also my die cast metal Voltron!!! Arghhhh!!! I'm really pissed now at him.

I was nearly conned by my very own colleague,
yes he is a jerk.

I am looking to get Suikoden 2 for PSX few weeks ago,
my dear colleague said he could sell his copy to me for RM300....
He said it is rare, and worth that price....

I googled the price, but couldn't really get an indication.
So i believe his "rare" story...
until guess who came to the rescue - GUNDAM,
this gundam fella found an eBay page that shows the price of around AUD 60....

Man, i confronted my colleague,
and he agreed to reduce the price to RM50.

I thought i got a bargain,
until i see his "Suikoden 2 PSX" in my hand,
it is a piece of crap, with torn manual and scratched disc.

I told him i don't even want it even it is free.

Many years ago I went to a shop to buy XBOX (not 360). They only have a crystal version in the shop. I asked if its a new item because the box condition looked a little old. The boss say its new but the box is a little old because he reserved it for someone to buy for his kids (blah blah got story one) but was never sold. I believe and bought it.

The console condition was good, but after playing a few days I happened to be browsing the harddisk, and I saw 5 old saved games there that don't belong to me. It was a used console apparently.

i want to share my friend's story from a while back but this was quite rampant back in the day anyways.

he wanted to buy a ps2 so he went surveying around all the shops in sungai wang. at that time the market price for the slim ones that just came out was about rm900+. one of the shops (cant remember which one) quoted him like rm600+ so naturally he thought he got a good deal la.

he told the ah beng serving him yes he wanted one straight away and this is where it gets fun.

first the ah beng told that price does not include the modchip and for that he has to pay like rm200+ more. then he said because there is going to be a modchip, he has to get a fan to keep the ps2 from overheating and thats another rm200+.

then my friend wanted another extra ori controller so he had to pay like rm200 more (but the controller turned out to be a fake anyway. in fact the supposedly ori controller that came with the set also turned out to be a fake. lol). oh for the memory card (which he thought was ori but also fake), another rm100.

then the best part is the ah beng said because its a jap set, he needs to get a 'special' power adapter that can be used in malaysia. another rm200+.

in the end the total damage was about rm1600+. and my friend paid because he thought it was the market price anyways.

classic.

OMG.. rm600 turns out to be rm1.6k. add another 1k for accessories?

Mine is not much for a case I guess, but here goes..

back then in Manila, I was looking for Soul Calibur (DC). Saw one dude post in one forum, PM-ed him so can arranged COD. Meet him at outside a bar around 2am, when I asked for the game, that guy(with two of his friends) smiling and showed me his knife(parang?) and try to rob me. Luckily I managed to run away, but ended up my left arm bleeding, cos try protect myself when he shoved that thing

at least I still got my 1,207PHP (around RM90?)...and my neck
