Hello peeps,

I'm interested in getting an xperia for my gf and me, we're looking for a stable device which doesn't give up on us as we're future doctors and we can't afford for the device to hang very often.

I heard from a fellow physician that the xperia is very laggy and the review is very bad. Some even said it takes very long to load files which are stored in the memory card for example maps for the GPS. Can somebody clarify this for me pls?

I would love to own 1 if possible.. Thanks !

Thanks for the reply. I'm using a nokia N70 now. The other phone which I have in mind is the palm centro due to it's responsiveness and also the wide application support for medical softwares.

A hands only wouldn't be able to really judge a phone right? Because it's only like 5-10 mins of trying the phone..

Guys, I think i've decided to get the xperia when I get back home. Found out that I still can run palm applications on winmo using styletap emulator. need it for my work.. can't wait to join you all..

Meanwhile keep it coming, so when i get my xperia i would know which custom rom is better..

Sorry for you bro.. Really hope the future xperia that I buy won't face this type of problem. And this is the main factor I'm still considering.

How come you don't choose to stay on Jack's rom u mentioned to me earlier on? As your said it is more stable.

I've a fren using the SPB mobile shell on his Asus P535 and there is certain similarity to the xperia panel design. I wonder why some of the xperia users till want the SPB mobile shell?

No, my friend is using v3.0. I installed it for him somemore. =) Perhaps I should install it when I get the xperia.. Coming home soon, can't wait to get my hands on 1.

Yes I'm sure. I'm not saying the real xpanel. But there is a boxed arrangement of the icons which looks similar to it.

But guys, with all those keyboard hardware issue that rkwan and rx 78-2 mentioned, is it still worth going for xperia? I'll be buying one soon, and the keyboard is an important factor for me to consider in.

Proud owner of silver X1 reporting in.. Initially wanted to go for the black unit but no stock at my place and have to wait till next week, and I'm kind of attracted to the silver as it looks more elegant IMO..

My rom is only R1A, charging my batt now, will update it thru SEUS tonight to R3A. Can I download the R3A somewhere else and flash it using the microsd method? I checked in xda forums but they don't have the WWE version, can I use the generic UK?

R1A is already sucky enough haha.. bro rkwan recommended me to try out stock rom before moving on to custom rom. Well I'll try it out for a few days first. =P

Btw what 3rd party rom would u recommend? I'm thinking of trying jack new win6.5 rom the v4 full version.

I tried to hard spl just now but error 620 came up and said that my USB connection has problem. How should I proceed? Pls advice.

I'm on jack v4 full now. Quite ok for me, but I can't seem to set my own ringtone for sms. Ady tried putting in some songs into the my ringtone folder in my documents but it only appears for ringtone setting but not sms.

I have a whole folder of songs in the storage card but none are in the selection list. I pasted it into application data, sounds folder. Then that few songs which I pasted appeared. Phew.. not easy after all.

Hmm to me it's stable, no bugs yet for me. Just that if I reply sms in TF3D, there will not be any delivery report. CE star I downloaded the extra pinyin cab jack provided, because the original one only got Hong Kong chinese, which is cantonese.

And I think Jack is from hong kong, because I can't seem to change the city. He included quick menu which is pretty useful sometimes, but when I find it irritating I'll quit that programme. Another thing is the TF3D looks a little weird when in landscape mode, but still bearable to me.

Let me know if you have anything in specific that you want to know.

Valkyrie 2.9 TF3D support landscape ady? I've ady downloaded it but haven't flash yet. Will try Jack for a while more.

p/s : I just found out a bug in Jack v4 full, after soft reset, messaging will pop up, and starting time is a little laggy. Other than that no prob yet.

What's the difference btw manila & leo? Jack is on manila too, I remember seeing it somewhere when I was tweaking my phone on the 2nd today but now I can't seem to go back there again. Weird..

I read from xda forums that most of the SE service centers overseas will replace the keyboard without asking any question. Really worried that the keyboard will give me problem when I'm overseas.

Anybody tried the new energy rom? Or touch It Xperience 13? Tempted to give that 2 a try..
