Can i get that type of super up close shots of bugs and stuffs? If can I'll get a raynox lo. smile.gif

moo... happy to know that ur into macro shots and yea that's what they call it... i'm no pro... but i really wanted to do macro shots too... besides raynox, there are alternatives too... but if you can afford the raynox dcr-250, then, as what other sifus here have taught me, it shud be good enuff to start training macro shots before you move to a true macro lens.

Weee..... back in KK liao!

Anyway, it was great to meet up with Millenia3000, albeit it was a coincidence. Well, a coincidence is better than never meet before! laugh.gif

albnok, love the comparison you did to see which lens actually edges out. Can somebody please go and buy the Tamron 70-200 f2.8 at Studio Zaloon? I think it is a really nice lens to have, especially on an Alpha. tongue.gif

p/s: i was still feeling ok the next morning after the wet journey to studio zaloon, but by night time, I was having fever and flu already. Yesterday was the worst, hardly could think much due to the headache. But today... much better lah. Thanks for calling to checp up on me, albnok. wink.gif

the pleasure was mine sham! going to have to come to KK to visit u and ryzan soon. I really wanna thank you for sharing ya knowledge wit me at zaloon the other day. thanks chiggy, that's certainly a very good point actually.

din, of course creativity comes into play, what i'm talkin about is what drives you to that creativity. One has to know his limitations before he can think up something... like what can you do with just 1 tripod? how to estimate variables such as shutter spd and aperture in any given condition...

Kul|mo0, honestly, the difference between F1.4 and F1.7 is not so much in the depth of field, but the shutter speed. When you shoot in low light without flash, every bit of F1.4 counts. It's either you get something at 1/15s at F1.4... or something at 1/10s at F1.7.

that 5 seconds of "micro" blur... lol... i totally get whatcha sayin man!

albnok - So if I get a lens with a smaller F number, it is more suitable for low light conditions, without flash? Why is it so?
*
aperture opens wider, more light is allowed to "come in"... my lame terms but i think i hit the nail on the head there...

QUOTE(albnok @ Apr 3 2009, 12:42 PM)
millenia3000, I feel it all the time at gigs where I bring the Minolta AF 50mm F1.4 and Zeiss 135mm F1.8.

The Zeiss is optically far superior; sharp wide open, good flare control, but at times even F1.8 is limiting. So I switch to the 50mm F1.4 (and it's easier to track jumpy, dancing vocalists with a wider lens!)
*
gosh it must be be a pain lookin for angles with more light just to get higher ss... it's not like im usin lenses wit f1.4 or 1.7 or even 2.8 for that matter... still wit my kitlenses...
