EEEeee...CM viva....dun wan la...
later corrosion gau gau rad bocor u can say bye bye 2 ur SFF liao

if still insist WC ur SG01 go with :
- apogee drive + 160(80x2) black ice micro
- chop 2 80 mm fan hole on case cover directly above GC part
- make a frame 2 mount the rad and fan above GC...can cool GC 1 shot as well

dun hav an actual SG01 to play with...just my assumptions judging 4rm pics and dimension alone.
might work might not. dun shoot me k tongue.gif
*
u're rite...

but all those wc are costing more than a computer...
and i never saw those 160 rad shakehead.gif

so the way off is not to install wc... better off buying a thermalright axp 140.
the sugo are not design to fix wc coz, it dun have 120mm fan.

you left our your mobo there laugh.gif

The graphic card should be ok... The problem arise from the cooling of the i7... I think it will be stuck at stock speed.

opps doh.gif
sorry my bad doh.gif
the view form phone not so good...

mADmAN is right about the fan... the fan rsangel bought (120mm x 120mm x15mm) only can be found in sg... or oder thru uglyvamp brows.gif
and according to rsangel... the fan only manged to drop the temp by less than few degrees on idle...

QUOTE(rsangel @ Mar 18 2009, 11:26 AM)
bro volt, i don't no how's geminIIs / geminII hsf on passive, coz i don't own them lol but AXP i can give u some avg temps smile.gif

yesterday i did try passive cool my proc, after i remove the 12mm thickness fan, idle temps are 2~4c diff with the fan, but when comes to load, is around 5~8c diff compare with a 12mm fan include.

Anyway, I fould a few cooler tht MIGHT fit: -

1. Coolermaster GeminII S
2. TT Ruby ORB
3. Zalman 7x00 series
4. Coolermaster Vortex 752

Now, the word MIGHT is no good. I nid some confirmation from some owner here.

No cutting on the outside. I'll just keep the casing as stock as possible. Anyway, I've done with tht support rail.

Now...time to choose a decent cooler. I'm looking @ CM GeminIIS or Xigmatek HDT-S963. Any suggestion ? smile.gif
*
plan to cut the support rail than install a tower cooler?

than the xigmatek will be batter than geminii s

tjay_tj,

Yup. With tht rail off...I got more option. I'm running an Asus P5N7A with a large chipset HS. Cooler will nid a clearance of 33mm to be on a safe side.

Darn...Intel. I was running an X2 4000 before this clocking 2.5 GHz with stock cooler & it was fine. Now this E8400 is hot.
*
at least more heat = more performance laugh.gif

a better hsf will reduce the temp (no doubt about it)

abut the circulation of hot air.

there is a 120mm fan behind the xqbox... no problem with that.

Thanks MadMan for the answer smile.gif,

i dont think the red is the problem. then it must be the green one... smile.gif, i think that will answer my silly questions. tongue.gif

or....... maybe i dunno how to apply thermal paste?? doh.gif  doh.gif  doh.gif  doh.gif  doh.gif
*
if u say so...

thermal paste for the stock heatsink is pre apply.... smile.gif

casing airflow will mostly affect the heat... bigger casing and higher airflow will reduce this effect

ur fan will only move at 100% if its get 100% air frm the other parts. (its not ur heat sink fan problem, its ur air ventilation problem) in ur case, it is obvious theres smething is blocking the air flow.
*
u got some point there... but not 100% correct...

the airflow will be limited by the by the blocked space...
u cant block the airflow flowing... air cant be block... the air will still flow thru the side where there is opening.

changing the heatsink will improve... but it will still limited by the fresh airflow... the air will circulate until it is exhausted by a fan...

laugh.gif laugh.gif

@rsangle...

add in a gc and ur e52 to the zotac mitx & PCQ07 and everyone will be drooling

right...

but... airflow will always be limited in a sff case...
temp in a sff case will always be higher...
u cant slove that problem unless u open the whole thing up, cut it, or use it casing less... i dun think u wan to do any of that...
than u can change the fan but it will be noisier laugh.gif

with my v350 ( form the looks, u can assure the airflow will sure be limited, with only single 80mm fan exhaust ) i still can achieve idle of 33C and load of 45C laugh.gif
http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/cases/200.../lian-li_v350/1

mainly u just need to maintain ur temp under the save condition than u will be alright...

QUOTE
if u open 50%, the air will ruch in 50% & the fan also will move at 50%.

another thing... the speed of fan will be 100% but the airflow oni 50% laugh.gif (actually will be higher than 50% but less than 100 % to be exact)
