Bending like that doesn't help much as the HDD cage would get in the way.
well, part of the reason is that I need that HDD cage for my HDDs, unless I got myself a multiple bay HDD enclosure.

Can't describe how to do it but we can hide your USB 3 cable in less than 1 minute. With the HDD cage intact.

QUOTE(qwerty79 @ Dec 19 2012, 10:00 AM) Product pageHere are my thoughts. This case doesn't come cheap at 388 RMB (RM190) not including shipping. Due to the dimension and low 120w PSU, it's really meant for Atom boards. Airflow inside would be too restrictive for Core i-series CPUs with Intel HD graphics, unless you don't do any heavy computing or any amount of gaming. You can't play games anyway due to the missing opening for PCIe card. Intel graphics on Core i3 is pretty weak compared to Core i5. Those who are interested in ultra small form factors would be better off looking for the genuine article--a Mac Mini, instead of China or Korea knock-offs. It's at least a lot more functional. Used Mac Minis with Core i5 can be found for less than 1500. Retail price is 1899, but I'm sure you can find it new in the forum for less. The Apple set comes with pretty well-engineered airflow, not to mention a suite of much coveted multimedia apps. If you only need a media kit to play MKV videos and run minor apps, then why not get a small and cheap Android player instead? It costs under 400. |

Hi all, I am new to Desktop building, much less SFF chassis building so bear with me. I usually hang out and look more towards gaming laptops but lately I really hate the after-market support you get from them. The upgradability is par 0 so I am now looking towards a desktop but I really like the idea of an SFF chassis. Can I get some help in building one?
Basically, the case I am looking at is the Amor A30 case from thermal take. It's just because I like how it looks As for specs, I am around 1% sure of what I am talking about since I mostly know about the tech in gaming laptops, nothing more. Budget is around RM4k max and firm on that. Screen, keyboard, mouse don't have to include so it's purely the PC itself. So, may I get some help from the SFF pros? I am willing to buy from overseas and willing to pass to someone to assemble it for me ( absolutely no experience from my side ). Though if possible, I would like to buy the stuff from lowyat to save time. Specs I am looking to achieve. An I7 processor with a motherboard that can probably support later chips. A good graphics card since I pretty much game everyday and won't stop anytime soon. Something like a GTX680-90 or AMD equivalent. RAM is usual 8gb but if it's possible to support around 16 with space for more then that would be awesome. A network card that is Wi-fi capable or a gaming network card ( like KILLER ). SSDs or HDDs are indifferent for me ( yes I do know the difference ) but SSDs are always welcome and I don't need alot of space. Sound card is sadly a must though since I don't use speakers at all. Cooling is anything that is really good and I am willing to pay for this. If I missed anything important out, I wouldn't even know lol So, will you help a hapless Noob from the terrors and horrors of taking baby steps into a big boy world? |

Wow, you guys are good
1. Can this fit in the Amor A30 case? 2. Can I do without the 24x LG DVD RW 3. Does upgrading the i5 chip to an i7 make a difference and can the mobo take it? 4. Is there a specific place to buy all that? 5. Is there also a place to put that together? edit: Ok, so I've checked out some reviews about the thermal take A30 and maybe it isn't such a good idea for future use. So, can anyone recommend a cooler looking case This post has been edited by Meaples: Jan 11 2013, 01:03 AM |

QUOTE(Meaples @ Jan 11 2013, 12:49 AM) Wow, you guys are good Whatever you can imagine, we can get it done for you (almost). You can contact us directly though PM. As for casing, there are hell lot nicer casings coming but sadly they don't really fit all your Criteria. The reason why we didn't even "bother" to consider the A30 is because..well, that's child's play and look really bad.1. Can this fit in the Amor A30 case? 2. Can I do without the 24x LG DVD RW 3. Hey guys, I'm torn between the Silverstone TJ08E, SG03 and SG09. I'm leaning most towards the SG09, but all the reviews I've read used modular PSUs and recommend against using a non-modular PSU. I'm currently using a FSP Hexa 500w. Would it fit inside the SG09? Would be cable management be a mess? Other specs include HD 6850/7750 (haven't decided on this), Phenom II 545 and two 3.5" HDDs.
Also wondering if I should be asking this in the Silverstone thread instead since they're all Silverstone casings This post has been edited by Prodigenous Zee: Feb 6 2013, 02:17 PM |
