I learnt a lot of tips and new words (layering, down, north face, fleece jacket muffel etc etc) from this thread but still a bit clueless about what to wear. It is a short business cum travel trip, so not planning to invest heavily on warm clothings.
Never experience winter before but will be traveling to Seoul 23-27 Nov. Checked last year weather this time was about -2 to 7 C, average 4-5 C. Will be going to Mt. Sorak & Nami Island. Wondering if long-sleeve cotton shirt + thin sweater + fleece jacket (http://www.uniqlo.com/en/catalog/012.html) + jeans + sports shoes/ socks + scarf + glove is enough for outdoor?
This is how I can best describe my cold tolerance:- My cold tolerance is not so good, especially cold hands/ feet. I can stand the cold in Cameron Highlands Tanah Rata out in the open area (there is a padang near Century Pines Hotel), wearing normal T-shirt + cargo pants + sandal at mid night for 2+ hours. It was after rain as the grasses were still wet.
Any advice for late autumn wear in Seoul?
I used to hear my uncle in New Zealand mentioned 'wind breaker', is it similar to down? parka?
